yes thanks alot that does help heaps. Shes due for her 1st service soon. probly just get them to do it. looks like i might be needing to remove some plastic to do it. unless i get a make shift hose nozzle
  3. YOur fist day sounds kindof like mine. Scared as shit for the 1st 30 seconds, got into 2nd, got better, got better. got cocky, and while i was pulling in to get gas. I wailed on her with her waxy wheels with 2 km on them. nearly lost her in the middle of an intersection. Havent spilt her out yet. hope not to would be very pricey to get her fixed.\ and Ya the turning radius on our yamaha speed demons isnt the greatest, but i do enjoy the lean. and at the flick of my wrist in 6th gear i fly by anything i command. You been able to get your r6 on 1 wheel yet?? The more miles i put on the bike, the easier she gets on one wheel for me. but usually not until the 8000 rpm zone does she lift off

either way, im keeping my blue tinted visor on cause it looks awesome with the blue helmet and blue R1. id say its worth a ticket or 2. Like the tinting on my truck.

I wear a dark irridium blue visor, very reflective look. and very hard to see with at night, but i love it. I can check out the ladies crossing the streets and they dont know the difference, but ya mine even says not street legal. but looks cool as hell. But its not like we are as bad as those Harley riders with beanie helmets that are illegal. ive heard tickets on that sort of stuff will get me a 150$ fine out here. but we will see

Ok Ive just noticed that my coolant tank. ( under seat, near rear shock) Has just gone empty, 2 days ago it was over the full line. and now i cant find any. did i lose it all from boil over? or where else could it have gone. she runs at a cool 73c on highway. but in city, in lots of lights runs at about 100celcius. I have 2 drip lines off the left side of my bike( near footpeg) what comes out of these drips lines ect ect. And also what coolant type does my machine run on. and how do i fill the damn thing!! everything is so compact and tight its hard to find any abvious places to refill anything. Thanks for any insight that comes my way
  8. I sure hope your joking..........

thanks for the info. Alot of the ones i found for the R1's arent so complimentary to the design of the R1's "flow" But id probly go for a carbon fibre muffler, I assume most of these mufflers some with a little boost of HP and torque. These guys are going for a 1000US but the ones ive got my eye on are 1400 CAD, found them in the yamaha accesories catalog. Do most of you do custom work to your bikes once you get them, or try to keep them orginal

I i like the exhaust i have now with the R1, but im wondering what other options i have for my bike. My g/f who owns a Vstar1100 Custom S.E (04) said my bike sounds like a snowmobile (ouch hurt me, and my bikes feelings) her bike didnt sound so sweet either until she got her aftermarket pipes put on. What could i get to give my bike some growl instead of pur. Although i understand i have a sports bike shes supposed to be quite, and sporty sounding.

well i must agree, 1000cc is ALOT of bike for a 1st owner, but i guess id say i have a pair of balls... But ya it is some what unsafe, and unreasonable to be selling this rocket to me, but ive been on wheels all my life, so she works just fine. well right now, gas for my is costing about $1.14/ litre (1 gal = 3.78 litres so $4.30CAD per gal (( non american gal)) so you must be paying thru the nose for the gas for yourcar or truck. It costs me $100 to fill my truck, and about $16 to fill my bike. My truck is lucky to get 12 mpg, while my bike should be getting about 40mpg. so while its warm ill be riding the bike. Working on the drilling rigs in Alberta, means i need the truck. Which is how i also paid my bike in full ( they pay us big for what we do) But anyways back to the bike. My dad still thinks im going to kill my self on this bike. Which is understandable, its not rare out here for a young man to get kill in his truck or bike out here, And ive also noticed the low power in low RPM's ive been having a hard time getting her up on 1 wheel, WHich is kindof dissapointing knowing ive seen 600cc bikes do it with ease, But on the highway i blow them away like nobodies bussiness. Have you been able to get yours up on 1 wheel yet? I was able to once on an incline, wrenched out in 1st gear.

Im loving it too. This is my 1st bike, so came from nothing, did my courses, and tests last august. Trying to get a linked picture of my Blue R1, plan on doing some custom work to it. Takeing the footpegs, and everything thats stainless and make it metallic blue. Hoping to anyways, going to need some good paint to do it though. Im due for my 1st service in about 100km also. How you doing for mileage, Usually my low fuel light comes on at about 230 km, what about yours?

Ive kindof been going back and forth, between the 2, it really depends. if its a short light, ill gear down just clutching. but if i know its a long light, ill break and clutch my way down to 1st gear, knowing ill be waiting for a while. thanks for the opinions Mitch
