u want to end up with something like this http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/216/adrenalinegh1.jpg/ to be honest iv been looking into it myself recently and found that its quite simple to construct from scratch, the hardest part is deciding how you want to sit on the thing as this is one of the most crucial factors b4 u can build it. have a look at quadbike suspensions, with custom mounts for the hubs and brake setup robbed from a jag or something (4 pot calipers and vented disks to make sure you can stop) then make them longer so its more of a f1 car look then base the suspension round the engine with a main structure for the rider, then something like a motorbike single shock setup for the rear , put in a jackshaft wire it all up with the controlls and away you go! personaly id save and save till i could get a 360 rear tire (phat!) and put that on ........... would make a nice drifting machine and be quite stable compared to the normal trike design (2 wheels at back)

why have you gone with a mini? (just curious) there getting rare now and most of them need allot of work to get them to a decent standard due to the amount of rust that eats through them. plus putting a bike engine in something thats rotting isnt going to do you any favours! you would be better off getting a cheep modern car to play with, that way you know its gonna be ok. something small but under 10 years old. as to an engine the r1 is good, a bussa would be better but depends what ur after if you stick to a 1000cc then ur looking at a £1000 price tag at least. 600cc engines get a bit cheeper but you would have to look into the bhp to wheight ratio to get an idea of whats gonna happen. have you considerd making a reverse trike? would be easyer but still include the enginearing and mechanical side will work out cheeper as you dont need a specific engine (a 600cc would power it all day long and you can pick up an engine for £300 on ebay)

cant u just hire one? then take the knackerd generater part to the scrappys weigh it in then sell the motor on e-bay for 150 quid or so, should get u about 180 - 200 quid to put towards a new generator.

well can u aford to re-do the engine if it goes pop? if not then u better be safer than sorry. if you have the money to spend then why not? also look into new bearings, and defo make sure that you have good oil flow!

iv not heard of it but it should be ok

ul need to take the left hand engine casing off, drain the oil over night,remove sprocket and gear lever then just undo all the bolts (there are a few) and put them down in order they came out (there all diferant sizes) then undo the starter motor bolts and cable, disconnect the cable comming from the engine to the main loom. you might need to get a new gasket but if your carefull and can get hold of some gasket in a tube (like glue but made for gaskets) then you might get away with it. gently prize the case open it will go so far then feel like its stuck, as long as your sure there are no more bolts holding it together then dont worry its just the force of the magnets in the fly wheel. once open you will see the starter gear to the top left (if it hasnt fallen out) and the flywheel in the middle. now its time to tap the starter motor out from the inside (its a tight fit!) but make sure you take the bolts out. to put back together put the starter motor in 1st then the gear then put the liquid gasket on the engine casing and fit, be carefull of where the cable comes out of the casing from the stator. put all the bolts in and oil, connect everything up then start it and let it run for 10 min, look for any oil leeks! if you get a leek then you will need to take everything appart and put some more liquid gasket in that area. it would take about a day to strip it and a day to put back together then how ever long it takes you to dismantle the starter motor and fiddle.

well iv just had a setback to my funds today some theiving bastard has stole the kids christmas money, i cant understand it cause thats the only thing thats missing (thank god!) only had the tin for 2 days !!! still... some scrote has got away with over 200 quid of my hard earned cash and the misses is devistated bless her. iv got to get some proper security installed wich means i cant aford to get the screens made for the shirts this month. sorry peeps but there gonna have to wait till next month.

yeah sorry iv not deliverd for squiers been having some family trouble. im hoping everyone is still interested in the YOC t-shirt we only just hit the 25 shirt minimun (last count) so unless people still want them and we can get 25 definate sales then it might cost more than the £10 a shirt (im hoping its not going to come to that and we can get a bulk order of 25) its either that or i pay £75 in good faith to get the screens made then get them made as and when, but that would increase the cost. (not sure by how much id have to get a quote) again im sorry for not commiting to what i said but hopefully everyone is still interested. and i can get them made. .Paul.

have you tried adjusting the cable? try that one 1st as its the easyest option, there should be an adjuster at the lever end and at the engine end. if the cable is fully extended and the bite is as close to the bar / or slipping then get a new cable cause they do streatch. if that dont work then il go through how to strip the engine to get to the clutch.

i found that even with winter gloves and thurmal gloves my hands froze to the point where cold water burned! and that was just going to work (20min drive) id recomend kepping them in a safe place for when you decide to use them.

ok the generator is under the left hand engine casing, all the connectors for the bike are in the headlamp so take that off , and check every plug (undoo it then look for any green powder, clean and put back together)
