  1. I installed the new MC, everything seems to be working now!!
  2. I just ordered the 13mm from mikesxs. On other note, should I be able to press the lever all the way to the grip?
  3. That's what I'm looking at. I am also wondering if it would be the caliper's problem. One thing for sure is there is no leak and stuff. And I can see fluid in the reservoir. Just whenever I press the lever there seems to be no pressure at all.
  4. So my 82 XS400 Maxim seems to need more Tender Loving Care than what I have expected. The front brake is really bad. I need to squeeze the lever all the way to get minimal braking. I squeeze the lever to see if there is anything move at the caliper and nothing seems to move. One of the master cylinder cover screw is SO stuck I don't even know how to get it off. Therefore I'm think about replacing the whole front brake system. I want to know which master cylinder as well as caliper will fit my bike. Thanks!
  5. THank you all. I'm going to use some motorcycle oil in it then.
  6. Hi, My 82 XS400 with some miles on it could use an oil change. I'm put some fred meyer 10W-40 mixed with something the previous owner put in. I am wondering do I need to use those motocycle specific oil or just auto ones will be fine. Thanks
  7. Hey Tom, Have you tried looking at carbs on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/82-XS400-SE...p4506.m20.l1116 Vincent
  8. Problem is fixed. When I drop the bike it cut the wire in 2
  9. It was drop on the left but the speed wasn't too high, I'd say less than 20mph and we slide about 5 to 10 ft.
  10. Yes I drop it on the left side. Yes I wiggle my front turning light and I saw some spark at the very end where it connects with the wire. And after I wiggle it a litter more the indicator is on and the clicking noise is gone also, but the light still won't turn on. How do I check ground? Thanks you all!!
  11. Hi all, I dropped my bike tonight And now my L/H turn signal (front & rear) won't work at all. Here are some symptoms: 1. I clicked the switch to the left and it will make some static noise like "dad dad dad dad dad." The turn signal light on the gauge won't turn on. 2. I tried to fiddle around with the light (front), I saw some spark at the connection. The signal on the gauge will turn on and there is no more static noise. However, the light itself still won't lite up. I will appreciate any help!! Thanks!
