  1. That's the kind of one I have. Excellent. The downsides are that it is really heavy, so if you need to lift it up a step or something like it, it can be difficult. The same for moving it around, the wheels are very small and the smoother the floor the better. If you catch your toes with it, it hurts a lot, a real lot! Apart from that, they are the dogs.
  2. I got a hydraulic bike jack from fleabay a while ago. £20 and was about 1 mile away from me. Just luck maybe. I think you can get trolley jacks that the cup is removable. Knock up a wooden frame out of an old pallet and bobs your uncle.
  3. I need another main bike. Don't know what to look for!

  4. You're welcome. Don't be a stranger.
  5. Not a definitive answer but I can't find any change of this part number from 2008 to present. It also looks like the X and the R have the same part number 13D-H2590-00-00 If you don't have any luck on the forum I would go down to my local Yami Dealer and ask them to check the part number for your year and ask what other years, and on what other bikes, that loom was used on.
  6. Good on you Martin. A big welcome from me to the forum. Lets hope you get some clarification to your question in your other post. Quite a few XT owners on here and it does liven up when people have returned from work.
  7. A politician? If you insult me like that again, I will have to issue you with a warning . Could have been worse though, you could have said "Banker" (yes that was spelt correctly).
  8. Can I point you to piece of information
  9. It is always bad when we buy products that are not what we expected. This is especially true when the product is of high value. I would suggest that all manufacturers, of all products, have some degree of "Friday afternoon specials". I think is is a positive thing when there are issues with products that people know about others experiences. That goes for good products and services too. You appear to have had the bike for over 2 years now and I can guess how frustrating this must have been. I can also sense that there is a similar level of frustration with the Dealership and Yamaha UK. I would be feeling the same. That said, you did initially come on to the forum for some help, telling us a little about yourself. You then have left it for over 2 years to return; and it does appear that this is to communicate your frustration with this bike, the dealer and the marque. I think the saddest thing is it looks like you like the bike but have been extremely disappointed with the quality and service you have had. I do think that you have slightly misunderstood the meaning of the forum, when used in this context. It is a place for people to come and voice there opinions; a place to ask for help; to help and; to generally socialise. We do have rules and expect a degree of netiquette and I would guess that a lot of people will have a personal bias based on the input of others and, even what bike they ride. Good luck with you biking endeavors for the future.
  10. Rear/Front Tube Type is correct. 50P is just the load and speed rating. P = Maximum 93MPH Official sizes etc 3.00 17 45P 3.50 16 52P LINKY
  11. Is the rim 3.00 or the tyre? You should still be able to get 3.00 17's. imperial and metric tyres are measured by different methods so be careful of some of the conversions.
  12. Hi and welcome to the forum.
  13. American trilogy is a great song. I can't think of just 5. However; Paint it black Pretty flamingo Umbrella - manics version I will always love you - dollys original version Too much to young Plus a few hundred more.
  14. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I totally agree. Some things are just, plain, wrong.
  15. Hi and welcome to the forum old chap.
  16. Understood. Are you looking to spay the whole lot; rim, drum and spokes? Without de-lacing the rim, you are not going to get a great finish. I would take the whole lot apart, get the rim and drum sprayed and get stainless spokes. I wouldn't attempt to rebuild the wheel myself, Some people have but I would have it done professionally. Don't take anything apart without measuring things first. You need to know measurements like offsets and stuff.
  17. Posted in the wrong section with no hello in the new members section. Topic locked.
  18. I think that you could do it for about a grand, a bit of messing about and the bike off the road for a couple of months.
  19. They are Dragstar 950 wheels I think. You could import some. As for sizes you would need to see what width they are and if you could still use your brake disks or if you would need, and be able to, fit 950 calipers. The width of the rear would, I would guess, be a lot wider and the output shaft on the gearbox would need to be lengthened at the very least. A lot of work I would say.
  20. This section is for new members to say hello. If you need some help, say hello here and then start a thread in the correct section. Please note that wanted items should be placed in the classified section and payment may be required. Thanks.
