  1. A Happy Birthday from me too Steve.
  2. That has always been my downfall mate, often the limit is behind me and I know I am in trouble
  3. Oh yeh, baby.............................................
  4. Interesting readings John. I was going to get one of these after I saw Pauls but didn't want to be the first to do it. The real question is "Do I want to know"? Because if I don't know, I won't worry about it.
  5. LINKY But this is a better story - maybe! LINKY
  6. Don't forget the clocks go back this Sunday (27th October) in the UK.
  7. If it is not a spring then look at number 4 in the first link. The numbers are hard to read so the part that fits to number 5. LINKY Second part of the shifter mechanism LINKY Full parts list LINKY
  8. I don't have a workshop manual for your bike but a lot of these early Yam's had an adjuster screw which can be used to adjust the shift. It is by the gear shift arm.
  9. No worries. Please see my answer above for my thoughts.
  10. Moved from the Bar to the classic section. I would say that it was more to do with the shift mechanism than oil. Shift arm spring or an issue with the neutral stopper would be my guess.
  11. Hi and welcome to the forum. Very nice looking bike.
  12. Hi and welcome to the forum. I am at the top end of the County.
  13. Caveat emptor - Buyer beware, normally applies but consumer rights are much stronger when dealing with a trader. If the advert has a picture of the mileage and the mileage was part of the ad (or a statement of low mileage such as a picture), this is then misleading and this this forms part of the contract of sale. That's the way I see it. Linky If the service book showed the clocks had been changed then the dealer should have disclosed it.
  14. What mileage was the bike advertised at? It's a 2010, is that right and what do you believe the mileage should have showed??
  15. OK. What mileage did the clocks show at purchase and what should it have been? Does the service book show an increasing mileage and does this drop or is there evidence that the clocks were changed by a receipt or something? Does the bill of sale or receipt have anything on it saying that they can't guarantee the mileage - normally in the T&C's on the back?
  16. They normally have a disclaimer not guaranteeing the mileage somewhere in a showroom. Was the bike advertised as low mileage and the mileage stated? What year is the bike as this cause issues in the future (if a higher mileage has been recorded for an MOT, for example). Trading standards take a dim view of "clocking".
  17. 3 bed terrace house money in the smoke or places like Wilmslow and the like. We could always get a leasehold in Derbyshire for under £4.5k LINKY Halfway down the page.
  18. Good thread Tommy. The following was for sale a mile away from me recently. I pass it on the way to work (and back) and I did think that the place would be ideal. Everything I would need: LINKY And on a nice road too.
  19. Any quality synthetic will do. I like castrol power 1 racing myself. 500 miles with a gradual increase of revs as you go. The better the rings wear in the longer you can go before you need to have the top off again. Just my opinion.
  20. 500 miles. Use a quality 2 stroke oil and use the pump. Don't be tempted to do a little premix as well when you are running in. The oils today can handle a lot lower ratio. That's my advice anyway.
  21. Hi and welcome to the forum. It's never too late to start. Good luck on your adventures.
