    Betty bit me!!!

    That's got to hurt.
  2. I know you use them Paul. That is part of the reason I used them. I suppose I will see when they turn up.
  3. Just ordered a few bits from Fowlers. My first time there. The site said everything was in stock. Paid and got an email saying every single item was on backorder. Not impressed. I won't be using them again.
  4. Cheers Bippo. Providing you don't mind? Steve, are we going for one big sleeping bag to share between the two of us?
  5. Sorry I forgot.................................nowhere to plug in my crimpers.
  6. Sorry to hear that Jimmy. It would have been good to meet you. It was too cold last year and I am an old bloke (the year before was fine though). Making the toilets in the early hours. A nice shower. Getting my lardy ar5e into a sleeping bag. Should I go on? Nothing wrong with the venue and they open quite early for a brew. Just me I guess. I listed a couple of hotels earlier in the thread. I rarely drink so riding back late wouldn't be a problem nor would be getting a cab. The hotels are literally a few minutes away. I will probably end up camping but I am starting to like my creature comforts.
  7. That's not strictly true in my case. Did I tell you about..................oh, never mind. I recommend it too. Banter and 2 stroke smoke. Hmmmmmmmmmm. It's just the camping part I am struggling with.
  8. I am hoping Oldtimer will make an appearance, Pat? and it wouldn't be the same without FZR Al.
  9. The 2 closest hotels seem to be: Best Western Milford Hotel Great North Road, South Milford, LS25 5LQ or Quality Hotel Leeds Selby Fork Junction 42 A1M, South Milford, LS25 5LF
  10. Cynic, Andrewelvisfan and I met up on the A1 in Nottingham last year. Assuming I am going, I could meet you somewhere just south of Nottingham city and we could meet up with the others at the same place as last year. Lets hope Andrew has a full licence by then as riding through Doncaster, with the smell of chargrilled steak on the way, made me very hungry.
  11. Also find our if they are Yamaha threaded. Yamaha tend to have one right hand thread and one left hand thread.
  12. For anyone interested. The YOC annual meet coincides with a 2 stroke rally in Yorkshire. Members of the forum meet up there on the Friday and stay until Sunday. Some camp over the weekend and some just come for all or part of Friday or Saturday, day. The weekend mainly consists of talking bike rubbish and taking the mickey out of established forum members. On the saturday there is a large 2 stroke meeting and ride out. The venue has camping, food and toilets. You do not need a 2 stroke to attend. The event is held at Squires which is located at postcode LS25 5LX. Their website is LINKY Last year I believe that around 13 members of the forum were in attendance at one time or another. Search the forum for previous YOC gatherings. FAQ I would like to go but dont know anyone. Everyone has to start somewhere. All you need to do is state your intention to come and we will make sure that we will meet you when you arrive. I live a few miles away and am not confident, or dont want to ride all the way there on my own. Members come from many miles and from all directions, see if you can arrange to meet someone on the way to ride with. Veterans travel from as far a field as Ireland and Scotland. I dont have a 2 stroke. So? Although this is your loss, all bikes are welcome. I dont want to camp. There is a hotel a couple of miles away. I find up.yours/wild foamy very attractive. Best keep away from the event then and spend your money on therapy. I guess we need to start a list of people who are possibles or interested in going.
  13. Hi and welcome to the forum. I spent many years commuting into London from Essex.
  14. You don't need excuses, just get rid of them and get a "proper" other half. Job done. If that is a little too radical for you: Just tell them you picked up a bargain when they are at the till buying themselves something (I don't mean at Tescos buying the food shopping). Try and buy bikes of the same style and colour. This makes them difficult to count Say that the latest bike is really some spares for a current bike and it is cheaper to buy spares like that. Say you are storing it for a friend, who just happens to want to sell it to you a few months down the line, and seeing it is already in the garage........ Or just do what I do and just be honest.................
  15. Which seal did he replace? I am not familiar with DTR's but, in some bikes, the left seal can be changed without stripping the engine but the right seal cannot. It can cause barrel damage if it seized and that normally means a rebore, new pistons and rings at the least. In case you don't know what I am talking about, here is a left seal change on one of my bikes. Left hand side of the engine with the crank and knackered seal showing. Seal removed and you can see the crank bearings exposed New seal fitted
