  1. Hi and welcome to the forum.

  4. I see you have fallen into the ongoing trap. Have a look The forum is very friendly in the main but a few people, me especially included, get fed up with people whose first post asks a question, cant be ar5ed to post a "hello" in the newbies section and then post the question in the wrong section. Telling an established, and respected - well almost - member to STFU in a second post is not really going to get you on the side of the people on here whose opinions you want.to canvass.

The Leicester M1 one, again. You can see me, middle lane at 1:58 yellow
  6. Cheers Nev. Good, albeit short, article. I don't know where all those surplus ones went as there are some parts that are very sparse. Not a fan of the VJMC but have brought from both Crooks and Robinsons, with the later being my supplier of choice for NOS items. Mine is the same model as the one in the picture but it is going to be rebuilt yellow - I think!!

    About time

Nev - Not sure about the maths. The 20% increase will be the cost of doing the difference between 70 and 80 (assuming you do 70 now and will and want to do 80 in the future. If you vehicle does 30MPG @ 70MPH, fuel costs £6.50 a gallon and duty is 80%, for every mile you do 80 instead of 70 you are paying the government another 4.3 recurring pence in duty . I agree with fining all the middle and outer lane hoggers. Shooting them would be better, but fining would do as a start. I travel around the Nottingham ringroad as part of my commute. 2 lanes, 40mph average speed cameras. 50% of cars just sit in the outside lane. On a bad day I would guess I have to undertake coming close to 100 cars.

  10. sportsbikeshop.co.uk 15% off all non sale Weise clothing. Use code W15SBS at the checkout. Ends 4/10/2011. I have brought quite a few bits from them in the past and always found them very good. Ta.
  11. Some good points in that Nev. I just read an article where one non biker said we should all of donated the petrol money we used and got a Lawyer.
  12. Where's Foamy when you need him!
  13. A bit of a let down with the coverage. Even MCN doesn't seem to be bothered. It seems that car drivers didn't have a clue and any, limited, media coverage seems to contain quotes from the most knuckle dragging stereotypical "biker" moaning about fluro jackets and tyres. In my opinion a bad showing from MAG. Where were the media and communication people and the consistent message press release hand outs for the local rag people?
  14. You haven't seen pictures of me in the '80's. I think I was before my time
  15. Wanted items should be put in the wanted section. Paid members only.
  16. more bikes than I expected so it was good on that front. what annoys me is that the focus of what they plan to do seems lost. media wise, and I haven't seen a lot seem to be focusing on fluro jackets when what it really means is that you may not be able to service your own bike, you can be pulled over on a roadside check whilst the cars go whizzing by, you may be forced to have abs and the cost and you will have to scrap any bike over 7 years old if you live in an urban area or trailer it. 7 year old cars will be fine. I would happily ride up and down the motorway at 30 mph every Saturday for months if it would help. glad you enjoyed the day, sounds like you were buzzing.

Hi Nev, Yep, the first vid is. A little before I go there by the looks of the number of bikes. I took my photos to the left of where the vid was shot. I thought I saw a hearse but can't be sure, Just sat on the mound and had a fag or two. There were some interesting looks from the caravanners as we were in the lorry/caravan park. Didn't do more than 30 all the way.

Wish I knew you were going. I went south from Leicester Forrest. I could have easily ridden up to Donnington and ridden that one. In case anyone want the full impact official stuff here. LINKY

Rode to Leicester M1 Services, southbound and came across this A couple of hundred bikes. I was getting worried as I didn't see one other riding down there. Left at one and chugged along in lanes 1 & 2. I went down to J19 and most carried on. Coming back the traffic was chocker from J19 to J20. Did see the northbound group and about 50 bikes in that. Lots of people on the motorway bridges too. It reminded me of riding away from Le Mans after the 24 Hour race. Well worth doing.
  21. Research is key here. I don't think there are too many sizes for the banjos and there are lots of universal lengths. Size the banjo you have and compare that with other bikes via the web, then just look for the right lengths. I brought some S/S bleed nipples from Wemoto amongst other things to overhaul the brakes for the SLR. They were sold as bike specific but didn't fit. Fair play to Wemoto, I moaned about it and they refunded the whole order value. I would phone wemoto and see if they can match up lines for you. They sell the banjo bolts.
