Wish I knew you were going. I went south from Leicester Forrest. I could have easily ridden up to Donnington and ridden that one. In case anyone want the full impact official stuff here. LINKY

Hi Andy. Welcome to the forum.

Barmy EU plans
Rode to Leicester M1 Services, southbound and came across this A couple of hundred bikes. I was getting worried as I didn't see one other riding down there. Left at one and chugged along in lanes 1 & 2. I went down to J19 and most carried on. Coming back the traffic was chocker from J19 to J20. Did see the northbound group and about 50 bikes in that. Lots of people on the motorway bridges too. It reminded me of riding away from Le Mans after the 24 Hour race. Well worth doing.

Universal stainless steal brake lines?
Research is key here. I don't think there are too many sizes for the banjos and there are lots of universal lengths. Size the banjo you have and compare that with other bikes via the web, then just look for the right lengths. I brought some S/S bleed nipples from Wemoto amongst other things to overhaul the brakes for the SLR. They were sold as bike specific but didn't fit. Fair play to Wemoto, I moaned about it and they refunded the whole order value. I would phone wemoto and see if they can match up lines for you. They sell the banjo bolts.

Cheeky ba5t4rd.....
At least he had enough of his benefits left to pay for his fill up.

daylight robbery
But can you imagine their faces, and pants, as you appear from the house and rev the beast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

throttle response
You could have an air leak in the manifold seal. When the throttle is closed it sucks air in from there. Did you gasket/instant gasket it?
-
daylight robbery
That is bad news. You need one of these.

'78 Suzuki TS250C project
I am still wearing them. They would have to be surgically removed. If I bought a pressie for every £40 spent on the bikes, I would be buying 2 pressies a week,

'78 Suzuki TS250C project
I was married for a long time, happily divorced now. But loved up with my "other half" for 4 years Nev. She is not really into bikes but supports my, sometimes stupid, ideas. I do disagree with the present/bribe method.........................Thought I would buy her a gift but when I got it home it didn't go down well....................................What's wrong with a bucket and mop anyhow??

'78 Suzuki TS250C project
I think the spraying thing is a great idea. I did look at them when they were mentioned and have a small one already (oooh er). With no garage the TS will have to live in it when finished and then I will still need space for the next project. I hope "she" isn't reading this, I haven't mentioned it yet

Qui! I thought the same.

'78 Suzuki TS250C project
Got a card from the postman saying I have to collect a packet from the post office. Crank bearings and seals, I think. Also got a small jiffy from Robinsons which contains lots of bits - It doesn't look like 80 quids worth but is all there. Got an email about the PJ1 paint saying they were out of stock, Barstewards!!! I have decided that I am going to strip the later engine I have and use the best bits from both. Nothing doing this weekend and my shed has really, really now seen better days, the roof is leaking and it is just too small. And although I have said it on the forum many times before, I will get a new shed in the next few weeks. Going for a 7" X 10" I think as this will fit on my shed footings. The one I have now id 8" X 6" and is really a little potting shed.

Virago 535 Hardtail
The bolts seem the standard size as they are in the casing. I would hope think that there are 4 bolts (2 the other side of what we can see) and that the fabricated bracket encases the shaft the other side of the shaft, but the same side of the wheel so all bolts are secured. If the welded bracket comes loose then that would cause a serious ar5e slap.

Virago 535 Hardtail
Just read this and I agree that this looks a very good project. The 535 does nothing for me but this looks like it could be a cracker. The V twin in that frame looks superb.

All the characters in that article need to be arrested by the fashion police. Nice blue helmet though!

for BWJ, Tom sellecks moustace
After watching the vid of this I may try and grow a proper one. I PM'ed BWJ a while ago but have had nothing back. If I upset him, sorry mate!! If he doesn't turn up soon shall we all go around his house and camp in his garden??

A lot of European countries have bad biker accident rates. There are many, and differing, reasons for this. This is just a blanket "stop everything we can't be ar5ed to understand" type of legislation as it is cheap for the government to impose. Now that is a very good question. Maybe MAG didn't think that through, or maybe learners just don't count as real bikers! Very short-sighted veiw.
