  1. I have broken down with an electrical fault. Cynic, Andrew and finnerz are still on their way. Waiting for recovery.
  2. Cynic is coming to mine, we will meet Andrew and Finerz at Macs in West Bridgeford around 12.
  3. Don't worry, I am not paying anything for this. It isn't my fault so I should be fining the last keeper or the DVLA.
  4. Or 2 sheds I don't know how Tommy10bikes manages.
  5. Not if it is black coffee colour. Think digestive biscuit, I'm sure you had a few of those.
  6. Hi and welcome to the forum.
  7. Sorry Kev. About £100 for 2 nights Brekkie extra. about a mile away.
  8. I got offer a part yesterday, called the guy twice and left messages but haven't heard back, Dropped the original part off earlier to a guy from the ACRD forum. He couldn't promise the part would be serviceable or, if it was, when he could fix it. He just texed me. The part is fixed and I can pick it up tomorrow Just need to collect, pay, and fit and I will have a rear brake. Shakedown begins on Wednesday.
  9. I have taxed it and fired off a complaint to them, I just need some rear brakes for the mount now
  10. I have had RD400-1 SORN since I the old tax ran out in January. I just went to tax it and the DVLA site informs me that since the bike isn't SORN and hasn't been taxed since January I might get communication from the enforcement people (I am sure that means a fine). I am sure it was SORN'ed so I check back through my emails and, lo and behold, there is an email confirming the bike was SORN'ed on 29th January. The road tax website has a helpline number so I call it, after much pressing of numbers to make sure I get through to the right person, a message telling me the call will be recorded and many messages to tell me they are very busy I get through to a person. I explain about the bike and the SORN and offer to read out the reference number - but she doesn't have access to that screen so there is no point, I am then told that because of a new keeper the SORN ceased. I am the new keeper! Although I became the new keeper on 14th January, I SORN'ed the bike on 29th January and the tax ran out on 31st January, because the last keeper didn't send the docs off or the DVLA didn't get around to registering me as the new keeper until after I had SORN'ed the bike, the SORN stopped. I am sure that if I had left the SORN until I received the V5 they would be sending the boys 'round for no tax in February. If they think they are going to fine me they are sadly mistaken. I am not sure what this means in the new system. You can't currently tax a vehicle until the V5 is in your name. You can't use a vehicle on the road unless it is taxed. If you SORN a vehicle and they haven't changed the details on the V5 then that will stop as soon as you are the new keeper. Tax can not be transferred under the new system.
  11. Looks good and tidy. When is it popping up in the for sale section?
  12. Bouncing down in Nottingham this morning. Mind you, for Scotland I guess that is "fine"
  13. The MOT ran out a couple of days ago on the TS but that is no biggie. I just haven't had a chance to take it to the shop. I think I have sorted the issue with the RD and will know later today.
  14. I have a problem - well the RD has. Damn!!! I have put a shout out on the ACRD forum for a part.
  15. They are still not sure about Saturday PM but all the signs are good. I hope my hotel room has aircon, nothing worse that waking up sweaty in a sweaty tent and not being able to have a nice. long, shower - eh ....and got the tools out . Tis appreciated Andrew.
  16. Start with a full tank. Don't be tempted to take off if people in front do unless you can clearly see the road ahead. Keep your distance from the bikes in front.
