  1. Use something like a Kryptonite anchor and an Oxford hardcore chain. LINKY of ANCHOR It comes with the drill bits and you drill three holes - which you can hide with sand when you remove it. Good in concrete, not tarmac. Don't use the antidrill ball bearings that fit in the top of supplied rawlbolts. The plate coves them and the hoop folds so it is less of a trip hazard. Don't forget that if you have said to an insurer that you use a lock and you don't use it - for example when riding out - then the bike may not be insured for theft.
  2. As Airhead says, miles are the same. Gallons are different.
  3. What temperature does the DT run at Paul?
  4. Hi and welcome to the forum. I work in Nottingham near Arnold so 'tis a small world. I will be popping the SV into CMC in a couple of weeks for it's yearly ticket.
  5. Hi and welcome to the forum.
  6. The project turns into a nightmare on Saturday. Damaged the tophats getting them into the swingarm. Chipped the paint off the swingarm. I didn't have enough of the right length M6 bolts to start reassembly And the shocks that my fantastic loved one brought me for Christmas for the bike don't fit. The mounting holes are too small for the frame and swingarm mountings. Counted to 10. Still counting to 10!!!!!!!
  7. Use some heat and Plusgas. I wouldn't advise WD40. Heat (heatgun) and soak for a while (a week or more). Keep going back and reapplying the heat and plusgas). If they are X head pan screws then an impact driver after the heat and soak or a quality socket set/spanner for any hex heads. If the heads snap then cut them off until they are flush with the part they are in and get the drill out. Drill a small hole in the CENTER of the sheared bolt and use a quality stud remover. The type that has a left handed thread. Often the heat of drilling helps loosen the remaining stud. When reassembling use a copper grease where possible. Good luck as this can be a frustrating and time consuming job.
  8. Plain wrong..................................................................................but funny given your username!!!
  9. Hi Conna. Welcome to the forum.
  10. Yep. When stationary lightly try and put the bike into first and at the same time, using your foot on the floor, move the bike a few inches back and forth.
  11. Some bikes are more prone to false neutrals than others. I can't comment on if YBR's. Assuming you got 12 Months warranty with the bike, I would be worried that the warranty is about to expire. Have you asked the dealer what they do each time in goes in? Sometimes something simple like chain adjustment helps. As does gently rock the bike to engage first (at traffic lights for example). You may want to consider contacting Yamaha Customer Services direct. Don't let this put you off biking.
  12. F*ck me, do don't want much, do you? You can't even be ar5ed to say please or thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It you have some information on the bike - including the gear ratios that are found in most manuals; Click the linky for an online basic calculator LINKY or Click this linky to get one in Excel that will show you graphs of every speed by gear by revs LINKY You're welcome
  13. Hagle but remember that if it is a YBR you want, you are going to be limited to what a dealer wants to offer. If there is more than one dealer near you, go to all of them to see who offers the best deal.
  14. I haven't heard that for a while but used for saying "very drunk".
  15. Hi and welcome to the forum Neil. I see they have moved the Le Mans date to September. I always remember going in April'ish. Easter weekend seems to ring a bell.

  17. Too much daytime TV Drewps Welcome to the forum Jerry.
  18. Should the sprockets be 15/45? Top speed when new was around 70MPH.
  19. It will be one of the coils in the magneto. It may be combined with another function (ie lighting).

    MOT?

I think there are different rules for Northern Ireland and some of the other Islands but normally 3 years from first registration. The registration date will be shown on the log book (V5).
  21. I much prefer the V configuration. Fell in love with it on my VF500 and the pull and engine braking on the SV is superb for a non sports bike. Pity they didn't make the MT-03 a V twin.
  22. Nice one mike. Duke 916 for me.
