I would be worried about the metal parts. Is the choke fixable? What is wrong with it? Have you tested the compression? If you are not going to go an engine strip, I would look at fixing the choke first - assuming the engine has compression.

That is very cheap. Well done for the CBT pass.

Depends what the rest of it is like really.
  5. Hi and welcome to the forum. Steering lock - look here Neutral light - assuming you are in neutral and the light isn't coming on. Check the bulb hasn't blown and then the wiring.

I didn't take them to CW but the guy I took them to said it would be about 6 weeks. If they are going to be much longer I will have them back - assuming he hasn't cut all the spokes out - and just get some tyres on them. 3 months for a re-spoke, that is taking the P*ss.

Took them in for new rims, spokes, tyres etc. Called the shop a couple of weeks ago and they were still waiting for the rims to rebuild them. I will call them next week and start to push. I know that they get the parts from Central Wheels. It's been over 7 weeks now now and is outside of my control. I suppose the good thing is I haven't paid for them yet and still a lot to do.

Rural roads. Now lets see....................... Head on collision speeds at 120mph. Assuming both vehicles are doing 60 MPH so that is not good. Not a lot of run off at times. A giant oak tree or dry stone wall are not the best things to hit. But really......... You would struggle with the "golden hour" where you really need to get to A&E. If you end up in a ditch there is a good chance that nobody will find you for a while so your chances of surviving are reduced. Even if someone sees you, by the time they called 999 (assuming you have a phone signal) and an ambulance comes you may have been laying there for a long while. I would like to see a map the accidents in relation to the nearest A&E hospital. Sometimes there is just nothing that can be done. That's life (sic).

Hi and welcome to the forum. Stick the issues up in the workshop section as the new members section is only read by a few of us. Look for any earth that is acting as a kill switch around the ignition and earthing out the coil.

Glad it worked Jason. You can alter the way it looks. Things I use are: Firefox 3 theme for firefox 4+ - this makes the appearance more old IE New tab homepage - this opens any new tabs as your homepage. I use google.com as a homepage with the predictive words turned off. Google translator - Very handy to translate those foreign ebay pages before you push "Buy it now" Advertising cookie opt out - stops a lot of the ads based on your resent searches. If I am looking for a TS part I dont need adverts for BMW parts. To add these, or any others at the top of the page click Tools > add ons Loads of stuff in there. If you right click at the top of the page and tick Menu Navigation Bookmarks It starts to look like a web page browser. I never use IE unless I have no option.
  20. Clean all the terminals including the coil and change the plug before spending any cash.

Spada boots are good but come up very small in my experience (most boots seem to). I have a pair of Akito's which are great and a pair of Alpinestars. The Astars are great but not really worth the 3 times cost of the Akitos. If you want to go casual, you can't beat a pair of monkey boots. You can get them on ebay.

The MOT's and any HPI check will flag it. Be honest when you sell. The last MOT will say what the approximate mileage was. The only way that it might affect your insurance is if the mileage on the old MOT + an assumed mileage form how many months before it broke + any new mileage was more than your insured stated mileage. eg assuming you have 5k maximum mileage for insurance: last MOT was 10,000 miles + 2.5k miles assumed (speedo broke after 6 months) + new speed shows 4k miles for the remaining 6 months.
  23. Probability the carb floats for the leak. or the jet not seating properly. Dry out the cylinder. Leave the plug out for a while. A drop of engine oil in the plug hole (teaspoon full). turn the engine over a couple of times. Ready for the plug to go back in. Half a teaspoon of petrol in the plug hole. Plug in, cap on and turn it over.

I think you can run it in firefox. I dont have sky but use Firefox as the default browser. Read the linky as they seem to have it running. Make sure you have the right flashplayer as there were some issues last month with the latest Firefox upgrade. LINKY
