Masking: Frame head stock - 2 peices of wood or ply with a hole in them bolted through top and bottom with some threaded rod and nuts. Keep these for pulling in the new head bearings Anything else threaded - old bolts/nuts Anything else non threaded - a good measure of masking tape. quite thick. Make sure to de grease everything first. Paint for me. Degrease (Gunk) Wet and dry with a little washing up liguid in the water Dry Wipe with a tackcloth Paint.

No etiquette. I keep my position and if someone wants to overtake I yield to the left to let them pass. I expect the same but some people just don't get it. On my commute there is a regular biker on a blade who, when we pull up at a set of lights, tears and wheelies away along the straight. It started to happen when I stuffed him up the inside one morning on a bend. I can't keep with him on the straight and he knows it. There are so few bikes I see on the commute I sometimes miss the London traffic light derby's.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Wheels This project has consumed too much of my time and cash. So if it is finished before Squires, so be it, if not then it may be the SV. I need to focus on the family and house.
  8. google translator "As these people from Yamaha, I am looking for some information for my DT's, I have a DT125 93 a 92 a 175 DTR200 2000 a XT225 2008 and CR 125 93 all very old as you can see. I ask, someone change the cylinder and piston of a DT125 to a DT175?? I have the intention to do so with mine. from already thank you very much and I understand. Greetings to all this is what we do" I think he wants to know if the 125 and 175 are interchangeable.

Mankini's and things slapping around? This thread is just getting plain wrong. Good for my diet though as it put me off my lunch!

Neither. They both have ape hangers. You need drag bars. Big fat ones.

I suppose I will have to come clean and admit I am not banged up, nor ever have been. I thought it was funny. We do get visitors from HMP Nottingham at work. Normally shackled to one or two guards.

No riding 'til tomorrow for me. Saw Ice age 3, 3D, this morning with a HUGE hotdog and coffee and lots of bike parts spraying this PM.

Just my speedo's and flip flops. For that distance I would use the car but as Cynic really. Keep looking at kevlar jeans but haven't go round to it yet.

Wooooo, feeling stalked. I replied to your intro post and mentioned I lived in Stratford. Also worked in "the cross" and "the abbey" when I lived in Harlow (Top end of the crooked mile, next to Jacks Hatch). 'tis a small world.
  18. Hi and welcome to the forum. I am originally a Londoner and used to live in Stratford. Chinese bikes do have a bad reputation but a lot of bike for the money and spares are cheap. I have never owned one though.

Hi and welcome to the forum Matt. Best to post the woes in the workshop. Start a new thread. There have been quite a few SR owners on here recently. If you have the Yamaha service manual you are better off than just having the Haynes one - assuming you mean the service and not the owners manual. The clutch cable and clutch are easy to do but you need some decent tools. The carb sounds as though it could do with stripping but get that thread started in the workshop and I am sure you will get some help.
  20. Hi and welcome to the forum.
  21. We are spread out on the forum and live all over the world. There are a few of us that meet up from time to time. It helps to fill in your profile as people will know more about you and what you like. Being in the West midlands there are some events. There is one in stoke tomorrow I think. It also depends on how far you want to ride. Have a look here LINKY to see what is current and possibly start a new thread in that section to give people a "call out". I am in the East Midlands myself. I have been lucky to meet up with a few great guys on here and have also met up.yours

Whilst it does not answer any of your questions, can I politely point you to this thread.
  24. A cryptic question to start with. Make sure they don't affect the wheel balancing.
