  1. It is a regular hang out for locals so there are always bikes coming and going. Different events on different days throughout the year. It is an old pub with camping at the rear. Shower and toilet block. Normal full English, burgers and basic evening meals - most are edible. On the 2 stroke weekend there is a run out on Saturday to a cafe and back. The forum "regulars" normally make their way to Squires for Friday afternoon. Friday - Pitch up and then chew the fat, generally talk rubbish and verbally abuse each other until early evening. Then it is a meal and a few beers. Saturday - Have a bit of brekkie and a brew. Continue with talking rubbish and get some fuel for the rideout. During the morning and early afternoon more non camping 2 strokes arrive and there is an area cordoned off for the bikes as the regular Squires hang out guys still turn up for a brew and burger. You just wander around the bikes bumping into other people who have just made the Saturday. At 2pm the 2 strokes ride out starts. I haven't been on the rideout yet but it is off to another biker cafe about 50 miles away, brew, and return. Park all the bikes up and then a beer and something to eat. I think there is a disco or the likes in one bar but the old folk just hang in the main area and keep away from the dad dancing. Sunday - Pack up. Breakfast. Take the final opportunity to abuse everyone face to face for a while and then ride home. Have a look at the link in my signature for videos of the last 2 years worth of bikes leaving on the run.
  2. Around 125 miles each way. Slightly more than me and a lot less than 2wheels has done riding his DT125 from Ireland. My TS last year was running like a pig and had no working lights when I left for Squires last year. It also has only just been rebuilt (excluding the engine which was an unknown) and had only covered 25 miles - to the MOT station and back - since 1995. Just see it as an adventure!
  3. Love the nonchalant posed picture of the forks against the post. Tis going to be some mighty front braking with the double leading shoe front brake!
  4. I'm in. Anyone interested in the RBLR1000 Ironbut UK northern route this year? Starts and finishes at Squires.
  5. LINKY PS. This is not a recommendation to buy the van!
  6. I used have the same hair and shirt. I think I still have the shirt but lost the hair a while ago.
  7. It was parked outside of the Queens Medical Center on the busy Nottingham ring road. Buses and emergency ambulances come down the slip road shown in the foreground.
  8. The more posts there are in this thread, the more I am starting to agree with you Steve. "Sideshow" was really bad.
  9. I saw this non marked, dangerously parked, speed camera on a very busy ring road this afternoon. Anyone in the inside lane would have to encroach into the outside lane to safely pass the van. It was on the border of a slip road which would have affected viability. Parked astride a concrete lane divider and on hash marks. There were a few police cars passing when I took the picture so they didn't seem to be worried about drivers safety. This was outside a Hospital as well.
  10. This years Squires thread
  11. Some people would call it art. I call it cr4p.
  12. I have Conti TKC80's on the TS250.
  13. Iron Maiden at the Foreskin Ruskin Arms, Manor Park.
  14. The little thin black pipe that is never a tight fit that goes to the distributor? Good call as well.
  15. Dunlop K550's are on road tyres. I would expect 5k to 6k miles from the rear..........................................unless he has been up to what Cynic said above.
  16. Well Christmas is on its way. Whats on your list this year? I normally have something bike related but this year I have only asked for one thing, a nice watch box (I like watches so something that holds a decent number safely). What are you hoping Santa is going to bring?
  17. I would lean slightly towards dry 0 degrees. It would be more definite but even with decent gloves and heated grips my fingers ache enough to make my eyes water with pain. Being the only bike in the bike bay is cool though!
  18. You've obviously never seen west ham play! It used to be a great game but not so much now. There are some superbly skilled players but all I hear about is "simulation" ( I think that means diving or cheating) and those who won't shake hands with others because they have less tweets than the other player. Bring back nobbie styles, Norman hunter and the likes.
  19. Check that someone hasn't fitted an electric fuel pump. If it is still the manual one, unbolt it and see if, when you pump the lever, it pumps fuel. When these go the old a series engines just use compression to suck fuel out of the tank. The su carb is normally reliable. Check the choke flap is closing when the choke knob is pulled. Get a mate to put their hand over the air intake and partially block the air flow at start up. Then it is down to compression testing. I would guess your head has not been upgraded to unleaded and this can burn out the valves.
  20. Hi and welcome to the forum. I remember the Norwich union price hike. Riders were offloading their big cc bikes as quickly as they could and the dealers were full of them. I seem to remember trying to negotiate for a zx10 at the time but the dealer was being too greedy. Ended up with a gsxr in Pepsi colours.
  21. Are you doing it yourself? Forks - Wheel respoke - http://www.shirebrookmotorcycles.co.uk/index.php?webpage=wheelrespoking
  22. Hi and welcome to the forum Koop. Start a thread in the project section. Lots of suppliers and services. Where are you based?
