  1. Slight of hand and skills learnt at Hogwarts.
  2. Lots of little issues here. CDi of the wrong model (different wiring) White emulsion normally means water in the oil. As it is aircooled it could have leaked in via the airbox which would have mucked up the carb a little. or got into the crank area and mixed with the 2 stroke You should get away with the stator. Hopefully a good clean should do that. The seals sound as they need changing. Often they seat OK when cold but don't have the flexibility when hot (and they are old) so start to suck in air A strip down is the safest bet (and cheapest in the long term).
  3. I am going to move the thread into the workshop.
  4. Great bikes but complicated. I would have said Stan Stephens but try http://www.stinkwheels.co.uk/ I have never used them and they are the opposite side of the M25 but might be worth a call.
  5. Hi and welcome to the forum.
  6. Like these then? LINKY This looks good for the money if it is right. LINKY LINKY
  7. Do you mean one of these? LINKY
  8. Hi and welcome linkman. To sell you need to be a paid member. I believe that it is a fiver or tenner (3 years). Have a look at the subscriptions tab at the top of the page or the link in my signature below. It may be worth joining just to get the plate up for sale. Paid members get access to additional threads including discounts and offers. At the moment there are links to discounted Oxford Monster locks, discounts for powersportplus, Busters, M&P, Powerbronze, oils etc.

I read somewhere that the 125 and 250 xv carbs were the same. Not sure if it is true. There are quite a few 250 pattern carbs about.

RR = babyblade Very nice, very quick and handles superbly.
  11. Professional membership = you can sell private stuff on here. Just start a thread in the for sale section when you are ready if that is easier.
  12. You need to nip that in the bud Kev. Mine tried that on me, I divorced her. No half measures with me.
  13. Take the plug out and leave it out overnight. In the morning drop a little (tablespoon) of 2 stroke oil into the bore. Push the bike around a little with the plug still out. Then get a tablespoon of fresh fuel and pour this into the bore. Fit the sparkplug and HT lead and try again. Obviously clean and re gap the plug while the bike is just sitting there. Also check the wiring around the headstock to see if any of the wires look frayed and check the fuse(s). When you go to bump it make sure that the ignition is on, the kill switch is in the correct position, choke on and the sidestand is up. If you can get someone to push you while you are on the bike, get it into 2nd or 3rd gear and try and pump the clutch in and out while you are being pushed. I am guessing that the lights come on when you turn the ignition on?
  14. This thread is like a Christmas quiz.....................................guess the fault with limited clues, a bit like "guess who". My turn...................................................................... Is the plug (I don't know if it is the old one or not) wet with petrol when you push the bike?
  15. Fleabay for a cylinder (or see above). A threaded stud with a little red high strength thread lock would possibly bodge it.
  16. What!!!!!! When did that happen?
  17. Hi and welcome to the forum.

The spark to the front cylinder. Plug, HT lead ect.
  20. Valve clearance (cold): Intake valve 0.05 to 0.09 mm Exhaust valve 0.11 to 0.15 mm Take out the spark plug. Remove the 2 inspection covers at the top of the engine - the tappets are behind these. On the left hand side of the lower engine there are 2 circular inspection covers. These have slots in them to allow them to be unscrewed. One in the center of the casting and one above it. Undo both of these. The center cover should reveal the bolt on the end of the crank. You need to get a socket in here to manually turn the engine (anticlockwise). Turn the engine until in the smaller inspection hole the pointed is aligned with a mark on the part that is turning. When these marks aligned, adjust the tappets as above. When you are turning the crank, both the tappets should be moving.
  21. Hi and welcome to the forum.
  22. True. Unfortunatly, somewhere along the UK's history, we gave thick people the right to vote. It has ruined the country.
