No acceleration on 125
Is it running OK now apart from the squeal? I would look at each problem separately.

No, I don't know anything about football. That why I support The Hammers. I was born in Islington, North London though.

YBR125 57 plate - clock replacement?
I doubt it. There are complete clock sets on fleabay from China going really cheap so why not invest in a new set LINKY People tend to not answer anyone who jumps straight into the forum with a question and haven't said hello. If you intend to stick around for a while and join this merry group, can I suggest you post something about yourself in the new members section.

I hope you didn't jet wash it! If the air filter is wet then the air won't get through and it will hold back a lot. Not sure why you would want to wash one with water though. Also there could be water in or around the coil and plug cap which may be earthing out the spark. That's why I don't wash my bikes from one year to the next.

I can relate to that. We live in a compensation environment where people can't say what they think. The cost is huge and most of us taxpayers don't realise we are actually footing the bill. Everyone is a victim and wants a cash payout.

RANT - Workshop questions in the bar.
Post it in the workshop. A bike, is a bike, is a bike as they say. Oily bits in the workshop please and no overalls or feet on the seats in the bar.

6 June 1944
Well. A few years have past since the historic D day landings on 6th June 1944. I just wanted to say "Lest we forget". I have been to the landing beaches in Normandy and it is hard to imagine the horror these guys went through to keep us free. Bless them all.

Planning a little road-trip: Surrey-Leiden (near Amsterdam)
Brugge Knokke-Heist (what a great name) Terneuzen Oude-Tonge (you can't make this kind of stuff up) Looks like a great route. Edit - that way takes you past a place called "Numansdorp" and for those people that know me personally on here, that could be seen as a little funny.

Can you refuse to pay for an MOT?
Some mot places are good and some aren't. No different to any other service. You, the customer, decides where they spend their money and people should be more disconcerting in where they spend their money. I have used the same bike mot'er for the sv for the last few years and the bike has always passed. I don't know if it helps that I take the bike in early and they can see that they did the last mot. I took the TS to a different mot place as I needed it don't very quickly and the normal place didn't have a slot for me. The new place passed the TS and commented that they loved 2 strokes. They even gave me a large A4 wallet to keep the paperwork in so now all the ts's documents are stored safely in there. I intend to use them for the SV as well this year and get another wallet for those documents. It is not just the big things that should keep us going back when we are getting our money out but the little things as well. That is the power of the tinterweb, it gives people a voice to comment on good or bad services.
