  1. That is impressive.
  2. Hi and welcome to the forum. Good to see a good intro.
  3. Hi and welcome to the forum. CBR's are great bikes. Don't mod the YBR as this will affect the resale value. Just wear dark glasses if you can't stand to look at the YBR.

Is the high beam light on even when you are not on high beam? Sounds like a bad earth or connection with the wiring.

This is the story. I took the SV for it's MOT today (it passed again). Sitting outside the workshop was a tired and unloved yellow Yami. While I was waiting for the MOT I got talking to the shop owner who said it was up for sale at about £1 a cc. I know I have enough bikes, the YA-6 is still only semi stripped but the bike kept calling me. I dropped the SV off home and quickly spoke to my beautiful better half . She basically said ".....if you want it, buy it....." so off I went to the bike shop again to find out a little more about the bike. Bad points No papers for it No keys for it Just about everything needs to be stripped and worked on Good points It looks about complete It is not seized Although useless it has 1 1/2 rear sets and what looks like some knackered microns on it The shop would deliver it So it was down to the price. That sorted I am now - well I will be Tuesday when they deliver it - the proud owner of a RD400 I think it is the 1878 D model but the only other RD I have owned was a RD250 so I am open to other suggestions on the model and year. Hi and welcome to the forum. If I can point you to this information

You may get away with it but you might not. If you cost out the gaskets, rings, small end and piston, the cost of adding a rebore will only be another £30. If the barrel is ovalled or worn you would have just wasted your money by trying to get away with not getting a bore on it. Your choice but I wouldn't risk it with an unknown engine.

You really need to have the piston matched to the bore, especially if the piston was seized. Get the barrel re-bored and ask them to match a piston to the re-bore.

With the key thing on, turning the big round thing should create a spark across the little pincer things. If you leave them closed and open them with a small screwdriver they should spark.

I have flagged up the inconsistencies, as some people can change their names and some can't.
  14. Is that really a hello? It would help to know where you are in the UK and a little about you. This would then allow us to know if you can actually change the spokes yourself and understand things such as ofsets and stuff rather than either teaching you to suck eggs or warn you of any pitfalls. 15. Airhead IS the master of suspense!
  16. This is very true however, you need to have a decent turnover to make any money and you need to pay out more than anyone on PAYE for any "business" things. As a very rough guess, I would think that you need to have around £9,000 clear income to cover the running of a small business. By income I mean that if you buy a bike for £500, spend £100 on it and it costs another £100 for fees, you petrol etc you are into that bike for £700. You sell it for £1000 so your income on that bike would be £300. This obviously does not include any tax, NI or the cost of running a business. so you would need to turn over 30 bikes a year just to pay for running the business. This doesn't include any salary or drawings for you. Your site also is breaking at least 2 current laws; No cookie information No company details This should be your first plan. Sites are trawled and you may get a visit from HMRC and you will end up in a pile of it. Sorry if this sounds negative but this is the reality.

I thought Texas was the lone star state anyway! We get some good guys from the states. Little Dave is/was another but I haven't seen him around for a while. Nothing wrong with us Europeans. We don't smell or anything (well most of us don't) and you don't need a passport or anything. Unbelievably for some, there is a world outside of the USA.
  19. I hope it's not because my plug is about the same. Mind you he may have had at least the head off, according to another thread, so I hope that the bike is OK!
