    Ice skating!!!

Glad you are OK. What size rim is the hub cap and will it clean up OK?
  2. The rear flashing with the indicators sounds like a bad earth, unless you have put LED indicators on it. The cutting out could be many things. Have you adjusted the carb tickover? I know you said you cleaned the carb but did you take all the jets out and cleaned them? What about the float height, it this set to stock? Does the bike still run slow with the fuel cap off/open?
  3. I have gone from not going to tentative. I need to get the TS MOT'ed - tomorrow.
  4. So running it in to Squires? Will it make "the hill" on the Saturday??
  5. The title is longer than the hello or problem.
  6. Moved. Posted in the wrong section.
  7. Move to the workshop. You posted in the new members section which is where new members come to say hello before posting up technical questions.
  8. You know when you are browsing fleabay and come across something......................................... Some tasteful coat hooks
  9. Seeing the last post before yours was April 2011, and the last poster only posted once, you may be waiting some time for an answer from them.
  10. good advice. If you mess it up with runs etc don't even be tempted to rectify it when wet. Wait for it to dry and they rub it down.
  11. Gaffa tape. Put some plastic from a bag or bin liner where any foam is exposed.
  12. Yep. If you have unpainted plastic you need a plastic primer sprayed on it first. If you have pre painted plastic you need to key the surface with fine wet & dry and paint it. You can get colour matched spray paint from many places including these LINKY
  13. They can be a little difficult to find but I got a gold one off fleabay. HD 525 X ring (to match the chain). I do prefer them and in many years of riding I have only had one clip disappear. It was in the South of France and because it was a Sunday I decided to ride without it as I needed to get back towards Blighty. Did a lot of miles that day and didn't have any issues - I wouldn't recommend it but it was either that or miss the ferry.
  14. I don't have any issues with a split link. I use one on my SV and have had them on GSXR's.
  15. If it is a continuous one then either angle grind it off - my preferred option or Grind down one of the pins and then get a heavy duty chain splitter on it. As you already said, tadpole in the right direction on the new link.
  16. This may help LINKY I would go to the local DVLA office and have a chat with someone who deals with this. Don't try and phone them, you will get a central person who is not interested, pop into the DVLA office. Take your original paperwork. You will still need the correct paperwork but the information they give will be very helpful.
  17. Do you have any of the French paperwork? There would be no VAT implications as it is an EU import. What is the year of the bike (not the first registration)?
  18. Is it the overflow to the carb or the tank?
  19. As it's quantum it just means "make it up". It is not proven, nor ever likely to be.
  20. And then your phone would be an offensive weapon........................well, offensive at least!
  21. That's because - I can't talk for the others - didn't want any of the jokes you kept sending anymore. As a tip - a joke is supposed to be humorous!! I will PM it in a while once I work out how to get it off my phone. Are you on the same number as it would be easier to text it?
  22. Originally cars were mainly controlled by hand. Throttles, advance/retard etc were hand controls. Brakes did not have any servo or pneumatics so, a foot being stronger than a hand, this was food operated. Toes are important. The big toe helps with balance and posture. We began to walk upright and therefore used our hind quarters which became stronger as they had to bare more continued weight. We haven't, yet, evolved enough to have webbed feet nor non articulated toes. It may happen. The industrial age is only a few hundred years old, this is nothing in the planets, or our, evolution. I would say that some people have come further than others in the evolution cycle and Darwin's theory is right. Keep on the meds.
