  1. Someone has messed the wiring up. Maybe in converting the headlight. The flashers could be fed from the wrong coil and taking too many volts
  2. Not sure about you bike but the clutch plates normally have to go in the basket a certain way. 120 degrees rotation with the dimple. So 12 oclock, 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock. There may be a special circular plate that has to be fitted also. As I say, it may not apply to your model but I know it does to many old yami's (including my YA). The plates may be contaminated if the wrong oil has been used or it could just be an adjustment issue.
  3. 2W6-000*** ? Something like that? Not sure on the filter. you need to measure across the carb inlet and see what is on ebay. The filter needs to be damped down with 2 stroke oil also. Ramair should have a model to fit. Some parts info here LINKY
  4. Use a quality 2 stoke oil. I would try and use an oil pump, despite what people think, they are reliable. 40:1 with a synthetic oil sound good to me. If you are going to use cheap mineral 2 stroke I would run it at around 33:1. It is important not to run it without an air filter of some kind. It will run so lean it will hole the piston very quickly. I'd say an IT too. Post up the first few numbers of the VIN. Not the whole number leave the last 3 digets out.
  5. Sounds like they are shot. They should be smooth all the way from left to right. No noise, bar the suck of thick grease.
  6. I would guess you are not familiar with foamys fixing techniques? Why do it properly when you can bodge it! Smear both cable ends with liquid metal. Put them together until set. Wrap loads of insulating tape around the join. Job done.
  7. Because we go faster...… we wished!
  8. You can get battery isolator switches that will act as a join. 2 screws each side to connect the cable I think. Used on track cars and campers. Other than that some 240 volt earth bonding connectors may do it.
  9. Heads Up Display concept for your helmet anyone? LINKY
  10. Parts information here LINKY Best place for a manual is fleabay - No links to manuals are allowed on the site as they are copyright protected.
  11. I had sprouts last night, just to get into the festive mood. Great they were too!
  12. Sounds like air in the system and piston lock. Overhaul the caliper and bleed the brake line.
  13. I've seen it in the flesh a few times. The best DT 175 I've seen.
  14. As above or a short in the wiring somewhere. You need to check the volts going to the bulb at various revs and when switching from low to high beam.
  15. This section is for general bike chat. workshop questions should be put in the workshop section. Topic locked.
  16. Also check the water level. Has the water or oil got a white "mayonnaise" type substance in it? If not the oil, or coating the exhaust, it could be the water with a gasket or water pump seal going/gone.
  17. Hi and welcome to the forum. If you plan a mainland visit why not pop over to the annual YOC meet up at Squires in Yorkshire next September?
  18. The gearbox may use a tiny amount. So measure it in and then see what comes out. If you spray oil (wd40) on metal ( the header pipe) and it gets hot it will burn off and smoke and smell, unsurprisingly, like burning oil.
  19. Are you using anything on the pipe? Wd40 or the like? Check your exhaust gasket as it sound like oil burning off the pipe. If you are not using gearbox oil then it can't be leaking.
  20. Looking in my crystal ball I can see some new bikes on the horizon.
