  1. I don't understand rim tape, but that is just my view. The changes really tidy up the rear and gives the bike a very clean, rear, look. Like the Scorpion end can very much .
  2. Whatever you do, you will need to tell your insurer to make sure you are covered. If you don't, then you will effectively be riding without insurance. If you are making more HP than your license allows, then you are riding without a license too. I don't thing Slice inferred you are a "bodger", just that all of the mods may make the bike un-insurable for you or outside of your license restrictions. Getting caught with anything dodgy will put a stack of points on your license or open you up for someone to make a civil claim against you in the case of an accident. What you do to your bike is down to you, just make sure you are 100% legal.
  3. Pretty bad on the Eastern Seaboard LINKY I hope all on that side of the pond are OK. I have been snowed in for a number of day's in Boston before But it was Christmas time and the snow was white (not grey slush like ours).
  4. A good point. Rattlesnake, what is the first part of the frame number? The old mag type bikes normally need a decent battery to start them (even with the kickstart) and should be connected to some sort of battery when running.
  5. The sidestand switch is just an earth so the bike should spark or not depending on this. You can wash out the bore with trying to start the bike so the compression may need the oil like I posted earlier.
  6. Leave the plug out overnight. In the morning tip a little 2 stroke oil down the hole and with the plug still out turn it over a couple of times. With a clean plug back it, try and start it again. I would also recheck and set the carb, a different plug and fix any issues with a weak spark. Normally seals will have the bike running at high revs and then slowly coming down until the engine dies. If it is reving high and not returning to idle (especially when hot) then I would say the crank seals are shot. You may want to say hello in the new members section. First post questions are often ignored. There are a lot of 2 stroke lovers and, I would say, experts on the forum.

Just back from Halfords to get a few sale tools (I do like their professional range) and I have just fitted a small Givi A287 bikini faring to it. The only problem so far is that it sounds like a sowing machine but I don't want to change the silencer until it is run in. Probably going for a black stainless Beowolf.
  8. Still got to be run in but at least the weather isn't too bad. The shiny pictures: I took it for a little run using my normal commute roads. Seems to go OK. I've just got to scrub the tyres in a bit and then give it some welly. Well pleased! Back to 4 bikes now and 3 are Yami's.

  14. Sadly I don't have a garage - yet. Remnants of utility and dining area refit, bathroom gutting and refit, conservatory clear out and other such accumulated junk. I hid the old radiators (and all other metal) at the bottom to stop people trawling through it. Full to the brim but they can't pick it up until Thursday. Looking to possibly move house in 2014 but not sure yet. I spent a few quid of the money put aside for a move on the bike and bits - at least I didn't waste it

(d) Exhausts - on motorcycles first used on or after 1 January 1985 the silencer which forms part of the exhaust system must be either: (i) that with which the machine was first fitted; or (ii) clearly and indelibly marked with :- -the relevant BS marking BS AU 193/T2, BS AU 193a, 1990/T2, BS AU 193a, 1990/T3; or -the relevant "e" marking to show compliance with EC Directive 89/235; or the relevant "e" marking to show compliance with Chapter 9 of EC Directive 97/24; or -the name or trade mark of the manufacturer or marked with that manufacturer's part number - relating to it. The European Community noise limits applicable to new motorcycles first used from 1 April 1991 are: Motorcycle Category by cm3 Limits in dB(A) Up to and including 80cc - 77 dB Between 80 and 175cc (incl.) - 79 dB Above 175cc - 82 dB Motorcycles approved to EU Directive 97/24/EC, Chapter 9 will be 2dB(A) less than the above figures. (Note: the precise regulations for motorcycle exhausts are complex and it is recommended that they are studied closely to obtain accurate and complete details of the requirements). Before buying any replacement parts for systems listed in this section, riders should check for the relevant marks, where applicable. These will include an "e" mark for EC Directives, an "E" mark for ECE Regulations and "BS" for British Standards. (Note: amateur motorcycle builders may be exempt from some or all of the requirements) In reality it just needs not to be marked "not for road use" (or similar) and not too loud. Points and fines apply and an MOT tester can fail it if it is too load.

  17. Not a lot of difference there then.They forecast showers and less windy so lets see what happens and hopefully not too wrong. All the new biking gear has turned up and I got a Givi black bikini screen for it. The doorbell hasn't stopped ringing and started with a delivery of a 6 yard skip this morning. Never had one but I have always been fascinated by them. I think Cynic is into RC stuff but I don't know what he has.

  21. I am unsure. 3556713 (a close number to yours - shown in the pictures) are one style of Astars GP Pros. Most higher priced Astar gloves have elasticated stitching on the fingers.
