The Postie Came Today
I found my car satnav in the tank holder was too low and hurt a few of my chins so I got a bike mount. It may be worth checking out the mounts (I got mine off evilbbay used) LINKY

Oil Change on a 1992YAMAHAXJ600S
Great stuff . Just keep an eye out for any leaks around the filter and sump plug.

Oil Change on a 1992YAMAHAXJ600S
Please find someone who can show you how to do this safely. It will seem intimidating the first time but is quite simple. That said, you can mess up by under or over filling the engine or incorrectly tightening the sump plug/oil filter. All of these can cause major (read expensive) problems. Is there a college near you where you can learn to do servicing or a pal with a bike who is competent at mechanics? Tools are a basic oil filter wrench or strap (they do come in several sizes) and a decent socket and bar. A funnel helps to stop the process being messy.

Jacket Press Stud Repair
A good looking tool. The press stud (and zips) seem to be weak links in M/C clothing. When I saw "stud repair" I thought that I don't know I was broken

Mixing leather gear brands...
Humorous? Be careful with RST. I have one of their leather jackets which is well made but a pair of their fabric trousers which started coming away from the seams after a couple of months.

The Postie Came Today
A good addition 2 wheels. If it is not a twist in one they can shake loose co a little insulation tape stops this. I have an optimate lead perminanty connected to the battery on the SV so I can plug it the charger or plug in one of the other accessories. Check out optimate TM on evilbay. I also have a Ram mount holder for my tomtom but havent got around to getting the brackets yet. They are handy.

What should I do after my bike was knocked over by reversing vehicle?
I agree with Paulwhite. At the moment they can just deny they said anything. You need proof. You need to check the rest for legality however, I think; You can't record without their permission (as far as I know). Try and get them to sign something admitting liability. No one was hurt so driving off doesn't really matter as they have still time to report it. You have to report it within 24 hours too. Try and get someone else to be with you as a witness when you talk. Know any police, solicitors, doctors etc? Try and get them to write something down that will confirm their guilt. Not "I drove into your bike" but something more subtle like who their insurers are and maybe a driving license number as you wouldn't have those without a conversation. It makes it harder to deny your story. They will probably balk when the cost comes in so go to the nick soon after you meet with them and report it. Try and remember what they said in terms of liability and make sure it goes down on record on the report. Good luck.

Brought another engine for the TS
Got the spare engine today. It is a later model one, as I thought, but most of the parts are identical. I only got it for the cylinder but it seems in great condition (being 30 years old) I am so tempted to just remove the old engine, bolt this in and try and start it. Great compression and no slap. Looking though the plug and exhaust holes, the piston, rings and bore look like new. It has already had a couple of squirts of plusgas so far on each bolt and thread but leaves me with a bit of a dilemma. Do I; run this engine knowing that the engine number is wrong for the bike; transplant the top end onto my original engine or take off the right crankcase from my original and use that on the later engine so the engine number is correct (assuming that it fits)?

FZR600R Won't Start
I doubt it. That is to adjust the tickover. A nice picture but not a lot of information to go on. do you have a spark? Have you got the kill switch in the correct position? Have you tried a little "easy start"?

Mixing leather gear brands...
Mixing is not a problem. Get what fits you and is comfortable. The only benefit of getting the same brand top and bottom is that they tend to zip together (if you are into that as there are a few different zip combination's). I have different jackets and have recently been riding in a leather jacket and textile trousers. Comfortable and spec are my main criteria for picking gear. This is nice LINKY
