How can people drive a "wing" and feel superior? I was at Box Hill a loooooong time ago and a wing went to go around a mini roundabout that was on a camber. It ground out on its side, both wheels came off the ground and it fell over. Not good. OG - You are a bad man.

YOC Meeting 2012 (maybe)
I think June 5th is the queens diamond jubilee so if it was that weekend it could be the YOC queens rideout. I am sure there will be people interested in that. ;-)

YOC Meeting 2012 (maybe)
Sorry to hear the job news Merv. I am only contracted until March next year. Something will turn up. As for the Devonshire trip, I just to balance out my other post. I would not be adverse to this, home boss permitting, and it would be good to tie it in to a local event.

sad day today :(
Good luck Kishan. I don't have a Yam, at the moment, but am determined to stick around just to annoy people.

crankcase cylinder stud removal
Cheers Cynic. I will pick up a heat gun during the week. I was going to use the hot/cold method of getting the bearings back in but did intend to put the casings in the oven (and bearings in the freezer). I will try the heat gin for that as well now. A bit of a way off thinking of bearing fitting, Need to clean and spray first. I will also try the heat for the blind bearing and then the rawlbolt.

crankcase cylinder stud removal
I have seen that type of extractor. I might get one. I did think about a rawlbolt. at the moment the bearing is sitting in a bath of plusgas

crankcase cylinder stud removal
Cheers yamahait. I have read about blind bearing removals like this. Another suggestion is to fill the bearing space with grease or soggy tissue and then knock a shaft into the bearing hole and pneumatic pressure pushes the bearing out. Luckily the Taxman sent me a cheque on Saturday for £223 that he owed me from 2008.

crankcase cylinder stud removal
Yep. This is on a tranny shaft. I do have to knock out a needle bearing but it is not blind. I just wanted to make sure that the bearings were still available before I beat it out.

crankcase cylinder stud removal
Cynic - Oh yes a blow torch. Boy are they expensive for what they are. Would a box of matches do? Drewps - Thanks for the offer of the loan. I have a Halfords Professional set of stud extractors which seem OK to do most things, well with the 600mm breaker bar attached Like these LINKY but part of the professional range. Have you a different one or a recommendation ta? I will also need a blind bearing puller, looked at a couple which use hooks but there is no gap under this bearing. Bummer!! Mind you I do love tools.

wooly long johns

YOC Meeting 2012 (maybe)
And a golf course nearby for a little off roading I will have to ask permission to go anywhere next year, again, but my initial thoughts would be; 1) The distance for the northern/Scottish and Irish members (assuming anyone outside this area would fly anyway) 2) The meaning of the word "mass" This years is the first one I have been to and there were not that many from the forum so the other bikers made up the number, sort of. These things are notoriously difficult to set up and people start dropping like flys the closer it gets. Sorry if it sounds negative but 3 blokes in a field or 3 blokes at somewhere LIKE Squires make completely different weekends.

How to split a 2 stroke crankcases the cheap way
That is supposed to be a lethal combination plus not good for the internal organs so I may leave that at one of the last options Blackhat. Cheers Cynic. I started a new thread on the heat thing and OG says about the same thing. Cheers.

'79 DT175MX.... Let the fun begin!!
Good luck on the project. My advice; Take lots of photos with a high Megapixel camera. Find out what DT125 (or other parts are interchangable) Always have a slush fund becase the part you want will be on evilbay when money is tight. Budget for tools, lots of them. If in doubt, ask. Lots of DT owners here. triple s powdercoaters blank frames etc for you.
