  1. I still have my Bri-nylon shirts. Anyone remember them?
  2. I spoke to these people a while ago LINKY. I think that the outsource the building and were keen to make sure all the measurements were taken and information on how the rims were laced was gathered before they were taken apart. In other words, don't turn up with 2 hubs. I seem to remember they are a little cheaper than anywhere else, and they are closer to me than anyone else I don't know what the quality is like, does anyone know(?) as it is pretty scary to throw £500 into something that is key for safety.
  3. Everything is fine thanks 2wheels. No.........................just poorer! OG says I should buy your minibike for her. Maybe in a few years and I had better ask her parents.
  4. I do! This is something I will need to do and I am confident I can do it. I can take my wheels to CWC (Central wheels) but then I would have to get them to blast and paint the hubs which would add another £100 plus.
  5. Cheers Kev. I am always skint anyway so nothing new there.

    1000 miles

Great stuff to get a few miles under your belt before the weather draws in. Even better that you are not asking how to get road rash out of your knees!! That's 2wheels and Blackhats round trip to the YOC weekend.
  7. Thank you all. I haven't seen her yet, I am going to drive down to Essex on Tuesday but all seems good. Being a baby girl was a shock. They don't tend to run in my family blood line. Only 4 girls from my mum to little Freya and there are 12 boys. I have done the bike v Sons thing but they got into cars. A bit selfish of me but I love bikes and did rather hope that they didn't get "the bug" so I could feel they were safer, all the time I continued to ride and knew just how much of a buzz you can get. They have both been pillion on my bikes when they were younger and loved it. The youngest has done his CBT and I think that was the first and last day he has even actually ridden a bike. They have both been driving for 8 to 10 years so maybe the bike thing passed them by. Funny really as I had a full car licence at 17 and then went out and brought a bike a couple of weeks after passing my car test. Typical me, always do things ar5e about face.
  8. I became a Granddad for the first time yesterday morning. Does this mean I have to give up riding bikes.......................... ...........................or do I start saving for her first 2 stroke?? Born to my eldest son and wife, a baby girl called Freya.

  12. I see they have changed the CBT again. At least they kept the figure of eight in it.
  13. Another e-petition that may be of interest to UK members. Introduce a 30 year road tax exemption. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/183 I have signed it.

    fz750 genesis

At least you are getting somewhere. It could be the relay. I hope guess you have checked; The engine run button was set to on. The clutch was pulled in (not sure if it applies to this model but some bikes need the clutch in and in neutral to start them) You should, with the ignition off, undo the starter motor +ve connector, Put a tester to this and earth, turn on the ignition and push the starter. If you get a voltage reading then it could be the starter or starter isn't earthed. If you get nothing then it is further up the chain between the starter and the battery, check the smaller fuses also as there could be one for the starter as well as the main fuse. You could also run a thick wire from the battery +ve to the starter +ve terminal to see if it spins.Wires can get hot, melt and burn. I would do this with a jump lead. Only do these tests if you are confident you know what you are doing. and touching anthing from the +ve side to the frame or earth is NOT a good idea.
