It depends on the make of the tacho. You may need an adapter to make it read right. Often the number of coils makes a difference because if it only counts one signal from one coil, and you have 2 coils, it will only read half the revs.

I would have one for the RD but the custom will be easier to live with, just not as much fun. If you can't get on with it, just look at it as a step to the bike you really want.

Given the many years of abuse, I didn't know your internal organs would be worth that much!

The "hello" line is part of my signature. It will appear every time I post until I take it off. It was not part of my post.

A bit cold to paint today but Ok to prepare. Good luck.
  9. Hi Nic, For plastics look here for perspiration inspiration LINKY 2 issues, use build up primer to cover any scratches and use the correct paint for plastics or it will come off like cornflakes. For a swing arm, Airhead is right. Tthere is no need to take all the paint off. I did this once and it took forever and made so much mess that I got really P'eed off with it. What you need todo is degrease, smooth down paint especially where there are ridges caused where the paint has flaked off and then spray. PJ1 if you can get hold of it otherwise Hammerite smooth is good.

You would be better off fitting an 18 inch rim to your original hub. No messing with anything else. The speedo would be out due to the difference in size. You cant jack up the front with spacers, you would need longer forks. This brings in the question of getting a complete from end off a supermoto and changing this. Just a few thoughts to start you off.remember; Fork height for geometry Fork width for yolk size and steering lock Speedo fitting and ratio type of brake cable v hydraulic

They haven't changed much either. I may have to resort to the Anthony Worrall-Thompson school of shopping.

Good luck. It is just that 13 looks at right angles to the guide (7) so I can't see how it can tension it against the chain.
  17. DirtyDT replied to Sammyt80's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
I would check 8, 9 and 10. The drawing isn't clear but it looks like 10 is the main spring and 8 needs to slide, sometimes with a slight screw. It also looks like 13 just tensions no 8. It could be a combo. I might be talking rubbish here by the way.

It sounds like it is backing itself off. Many cam chain adjusters tend to do this, especially if they are automatic (rely on a spring). I don't know what type yours is and a good clean and new spring may cure it. You don't want to chain jumping the sprocket as that will make a mess. LINKY to parts
  19. I came across this while doing some research. It may be helpful to someone. Relates to UK NGK spark plugs. Use at your own risk. It may be useful for cross referencing
