Not a nice day to do it but when you have cleaned them and reassembled the bike it always feels like there are a few extra HP's squeezed out of them.

Check where the petrol is stopping. If it is coming to the petcock, is it getting to the carbs? Are the carbs full of petrol? Is there an inline filter that is blocked. Have you poured a little fuel down a spark plug hole, refitted the plug and HT lead and then tried to start it?

Have to agree with Cynic. That is too good to cut about.
  5. Hi and welcome to the forum Lance.
  6. Rear brakes are rarely good. Have a look HERE to see if you need to adjust it. I would guess £50 for supply and fit for new shoes.
  7. Hi Steve. Welcome to the forum from another geriatric.
  8. I Just closed all of mine, including youtube due to them gathering too much info. This means that last years squires video will no longer be available but I will put it on my own server and post a link up on the rally threads.

So Big Kev may not be the only one in drag at squires this year then

Too long mate. At least I am off to Wales for a week at the end of March (early family holiday) and am waiting for a new car which we ordered early Feb and they are saying mid May delivery. According to my job title, I do Programme Management . Bike wise, I need to strip and paint and it is too cold to do that at the moment. Are you re-spoking yourself? I considered it but think I will leave it to the experts.

No news on the TS front. I have so much work on that it is still just sitting stripped. I keep toying with the idea of seeing if the second engine will run

Say hello to Bert from me. Just ask away. I have a PDF of the proper workshop manual for the '97 ones that I can supply a link for if you need it.

When you crank it with the drill does it spark every time it should? When you kick it over does it spin the rotor? I would check the points (gap and condition), the condenser, plug and timing. It shouldn't be too hard to kick over the 50 to get a spark. Points Condenser

Hi and welcome to the forum Texas. For me, UK based, it is amazing how cheap and plentiful project bikes are in the States.

Hi and welcome to the forum gezzer. The FZR's are great bikes. I brought a new foxeye one in '94. One of the best bikes I ever owned.
  20. Hi and welcome to the forum. I am still waiting for the first "proper" sunny day of 2012. Doesn't stop me riding though!
  21. Hi and welcome to the forum Rob. As Blackhat said, they might have under filled the bike. Be aware that different bikes have different ways of checking the oil. Some just when cold and held upright, some hot and upright. I would check the manual before putting any more oil in.
