Carb cleaning time
Not a nice day to do it but when you have cleaned them and reassembled the bike it always feels like there are a few extra HP's squeezed out of them.

hello to all from the new guy!
Hi and welcome to the forum Lance.

Very new to bikes and all
Rear brakes are rarely good. Have a look HERE to see if you need to adjust it. I would guess £50 for supply and fit for new shoes.

Anyone considering closing their Google accounts?
I Just closed all of mine, including youtube due to them gathering too much info. This means that last years squires video will no longer be available but I will put it on my own server and post a link up on the rally threads.

'78 Suzuki TS250C project
Too long mate. At least I am off to Wales for a week at the end of March (early family holiday) and am waiting for a new car which we ordered early Feb and they are saying mid May delivery. According to my job title, I do Programme Management . Bike wise, I need to strip and paint and it is too cold to do that at the moment. Are you re-spoking yourself? I considered it but think I will leave it to the experts.

'78 Suzuki TS250C project
No news on the TS front. I have so much work on that it is still just sitting stripped. I keep toying with the idea of seeing if the second engine will run

ignition problems
When you crank it with the drill does it spark every time it should? When you kick it over does it spin the rotor? I would check the points (gap and condition), the condenser, plug and timing. It shouldn't be too hard to kick over the 50 to get a spark. Points Condenser

Greetings from sunny Edinburgh!!
Hi and welcome to the forum Rob. As Blackhat said, they might have under filled the bike. Be aware that different bikes have different ways of checking the oil. Some just when cold and held upright, some hot and upright. I would check the manual before putting any more oil in.
