  1. Are you leading us in CBD? Otherwise Blackhat will get the sweats eating the chilli con carne again. 3 weeks to go.
  2. Catweasel................................... now you are talking! Saturday afternoons have never been the same.
  3. Can't help with the cost. Use your favorite search engine. I can't remember what my test cost but I just rode around the block a few times. Focus on the test then look around.
  4. Fantastic but very temperamental. Get a weekly bus pass as well because chances are you will need it. Test will nearly always get harder and more expensive so bite the bullet now and it opens the door to a lot more choice.
  5. Bring back Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and Kendo Nagasaki!
  6. Easily done. I did it the other day! It must be fuel. It can't burn anything else. Are all the jets sitting right and any rubber grommets in the carb OK?
  7. Does it have an inline fuel filter? A filter between the tank and the carb or is it just a rubber pipe? I would take off the carb. Strip it, clean all of the jets and check the float height. I would also take off the fuel petcock (fuel tap) and strip and clean this too.
  8. Start a thread in the workshop section that can be found on the front page about two thirds down the page. You will need to explain what the symptoms are; Does it start? Does it run? Does it tick over? Have you ever had it running? Is there fuel in it and is it fresh? Does it kick over? Do you get lights when you turn on the ignition? That kind of stuff. The better you explain what the issues is, the easier it is to help. In the workshop area.
  9. Grand idea. I am off to put a couple of posts in the secret paid members area now. The titles will be: "how fast does my bike go". & "how to make my DT do a trillion MPH"

Noooooo sacha. Hammerite is a brand name. Don't get hammer finish as this is a ripple finish and you need smooth finish. I don't think it is exported to the us. Have a look at www.thepaintstore.com and search for hammerite rust cap smooth enamel aluminium. Remember smooth Www.tcpglobal.com and search for hammerite. The product number is ham42205 this looks the same but down to you. I am sure that someone from the uk would send you a tin if you were after the exact stuff i brought.

Nooooo. On the home page look at the bottom right for links to that kind of stat. So were mine Sacha. £20 worth of new rubber from the good ol USA. The silver goes on really easily by the way.
  12. I voted "maybe" This was based on the idea that all posts would be open to all but ride out, supplier and specs could be country/region specific. On the down side, it would dilute some threads, create some fractionality (is that a real word?) and duplicate a lot of similar posts. I have seen it in other forums and some are very active and others have no activity. I am with ttask'ie. with the newbie stuff. Straight in with a question, one, two posts and gone. Especially when they claim to have been lurking for a while but never seem to have read the straplines on a lot of us regular posters. I go through stages of using the "manage ignore pref" to block me from seeing some of the few post wonders. Nice to be asked though.

Fork lowers; Prepare as per my earlier post. A few coats of Hammerite silver direct to paint smooth Job done Excuse the rain drops.
  14. Not that it needs a second opinion but tis true. Too lean will hole the piston. The other thing is that the new synthetic oils can run at a much lower ratio. Some oils can run at 50:1 when a lot of the older bikes were designed to run on a 32:1 ratio.
  15. Page from the Daily Mail LINKY Includes this one
  16. Anyone for a kebab?

    Lit wheels

I was going to say "why?" But then I thought................it would be cool to get the brake discs lit up fire orange when you braked. A bit like F1.
  18. Cheeky B**stard. I didn't know I said Kev could ride it!
  19. I couldn't get a set of TW's so I have thrown on a set of Conti TKC80 Twinduro on the TS. That is a 4.10 / 18
  20. Rain stopped play for most of the day. Indicators on and all working now. The old horn works fine so that is going to to go back on. Made up a couple of extra earth wires and fitted a double bullet on the earth side of the battery Realigned the rear mudguard. Neutral light isn't working now but the switch is earthing properly. I might have blown the blub but haven't checked this yet. Apart from this, all of the electrics are now on and working fine. Getting a good 6.75 volts feed to the battery at idle. The back looks like a good old 70's stylie trails bike now.
