Cheers Sniff. I didn't expect such a comprehensive answer but just to test my understanding: Thin wire = 5w = Tail Thicker wire = 21w = Stop Cheers.

I can't be ar5ed to go and look so can anyone tell me the following please: On a stop & tail bulb there are 2 filiments. One thin and one thicker. Which one is which please? There doesn't seem to be a noticable difference in brighness in the 6v bulb on the TS and the pattern back light has seperate wires with non standard coloured wiring. Cheers.

A bit more info on the speedo might get you enough of a forum talk through to give you the confidence to tackle this yourself. If it is a Vapor (Trail Tech) type then it would be quite easy to fit it assuming you have a little more than basic tools. You could ask for a talk through and then reconsider if you think you can do it yourself. My next choice would be to call a mobile auto electrician.

I don't know either but I think that the satnav cards are a slightly different format so you would need to have a blank one that is satnav compatible. Also the files may not easily transfer due to their format. Although most satnav units are card free, this is how they update some built in car satnavs. I had the same problem with my tomtom so I brought a different one with lifetime upgrades. Not as good though and if it wasn't for the upgrades would sell it. Obviously a hypothetical question I would guess!!

Cheers guy's. I was looking at a Yambits halogen which should be a straight swap. I decided that I might struggle to get this to fit the rims I have and they are quite different. I did buy a headlight from a GS450 but it wasn't that good. I ordered a complete, pattern, wetdream headlight unit earlier. That should mean that I can either use the whole unit, use the rims and glass if it fits the headlight holder or just use the glass. It has a 12v 60/55w H4 bulb so I ordered a couple 6v 35/35w H4 bulbs to go with it. I needed one with a pilot light so lets see what turns up.

Do you want to come down and watch my corner shop? I remember cry baby jim breaks, he always used to jump up and down in a tantrum........well that's what I remember.
  21. Fuse(s) will be by the battery. Take out the plug for an hour. Connect the wires together. fit the battery. put the plug back in and try again. You may have also blown the warning lights and the reving trouble could be down to the cylinder being awash with fuel. Cheaper to try this first than buy a new CDI.
  22. Hi and welcome to the forum. Lots of jolly good people here from all over the world. I too used to moped race in the early '90's. Great fun. We used to race a Honda C50 most of the time with a 125 carb and 400 rear shocks.

Use "paint" it can be found under the "accessories" folder in most wndows programes. For something slightly better but free use your search engine for paint.net. LINKY For easy resizing use PIXresizer, also free LINKY
  24. Check all the fuses to make sure you haven't blown one whilst touching wire together.
