Gunk to clean it. Use wet and dry paper 320/400 with some washing up liquid in the water. Dry, Tack cloth and spray. It is a lot easiler than it looks to get a good finish if you take your time.

Why? Why by a YBR to offroad it? Sell it and buy an XT.

I rub down and wipe with a tack cloth. Paints are always a difficult choice. At the moment I am leaning to VHT brand so VHT case paint and VHT barrel paint. All the work is in the prep.
  8. Hi Jon. Welcome to the forum.
  9. Cheers Drewpy. I will probably fit a Yuniparts DT one just to be sure.

Some features need to have paid membership. Dependent on the level of membership, this gives you additional features including uploading photos, posting in the items for sale or wanted areas and a access to areas of the forum that cannot be seen by non paying members including a discount area and a private members chat area. Very reasonably priced too (I mean cheap). Click the link if you would like to find out more LINKY
  11. Great news Jayda. Just in time for the winter too!
  12. Saw the change mate. Thought about turning the battery around and if I can't find a gel/MS/AGM one I may do that. I can re-route the breather easily enough. Just took the battery out as it had no charge. It was a cheap one anyway and I may have already killed it due to this issue so I thought I would ask and buy one of those. They seem to be available in Oz and there are lots of manufacturers in china who make them but they don't seem to be imported here. I am trickle charging the battery now. Tinkering with the new carb jets at the same time
  13. It is a tube Airhead.
  14. Cheers Drewps. I have seen these. Here is the dilemma: The TS leans a lot on the sidestand. so much that the battery looses acid down the overflow tube and therefore stops running the indicators etc. Battery boxes are scarce and this is probably due to the fact that most have been eaten by acid when the overflow has not been put on properly. The battery box contains the mountings for the cover on that side of the bike. Specific issues The battery in the link is 40mm longer than the original one and I would need to see if it would physically fit in the space (new battery box or not) The UK spec of the TS does not have a regulator (the US one does). The wiring is there so I did consider using a pattern single wire one made for the DT from yuniparts to get over this. This assumes that they are going to be very similar specs in terms of volts and amps. Any thoughts??
  15. Anyone know who sells these please? Size is important but all I can find is alarm type ones. Cheers.

When did that happen kev? I hope it doesn't affect my benefits under that name! All I need now is a British passport and I will be made.

  22. Great pictures. Last time I went on the bike these were the tings I noticed the most: The road surfaces vary from very loose to great shellgrip Some of the bends are very scary and never decided was was worse - armaco or no armaco Signs for snow chains on tyres made me think How cold it got riding in the shadows and through tunnels It was noticable how the engine sound changed in thin air
