Cant remember the DT but normally the way is to look into where the speedo cable goes and there may be a couple of slots showing. This allows you to unscrew this holed, circular, bolt out and then the worm drive can come out. The TS looked worn and I managed to find a NOS one off US fleabay. The old one still works fine so I have kept the new one for when I do need it. They can be brass so softer than steel and here may be a little rubber washer in there.

Hi, I doubt if you will get much in the way of replies. My initial advice would be to have a look at this thread and a please woudn;t go amiss. Sounds like the relay is knackered or you have a short somewhere in the headlight circuit.

Benson (Oxfordshire) from mine is about 100 miles. About the same as squires. Easily doable on the old TS. Mine to the Peterborough show ground is about 50 miles.

A little fine wet & dry to get them shiny and a little Vaseline or petroleum jelly (or should that be jello in the US?) to keep them that way.
  7. Twas meant for February. All votes for all months need to be in well before December this year so that the printing and sending of the calenders can be complete before 1st Jan 2014. My suggestion is that January's winner is announced, February's begins (and ends at the end of January. That means that by the beginning of December all of the pictures will be decided ready for the printer. Just saying..........................................

    Ready for Squires?
  16. Before you attempt this, remember that it may not be road legal and it may suck more power than the YBR can produce which will leave you stranded somewhere. You will also need to fit a couple of relays and some decent wire for the high drain part of the circuit. If you don't you will possibly melt part of the loom somewhere and start a fire.

Good luck and, if you feel like it, stick around. There is still a lot of great info on the site and most of us don't bite. I don't have enough bits to build a full Yami yet and they still let me on here.

A lot of R6's have 2nd gear issues. I may be abused for saying this but I would go for a SV650 (I own one) - yep, not a Yami I know. If you want a yami a Fazer or XJ would be ideal. Also the MT-03 is worth a look but they are a single and underpowered but very funky.

Try the "compare" websites. That will give you a rough idea of what the cheapest quote will be. Then phone around. If you have a swintons near you it may be worth popping in to the shop and doing a little negotiation. Remember that you will pay a high premium but as you get older, build up some no claims and gain experience the prices will come down.

  22. You are not. Just chop his fingers off. Whirling cogs cause turbulence. Whirling cogs in a bath of oil cause turbulence and oil splatter.
