There are lots of fake spark plugs around. I would pop to halfords and get some new ones. Correctly gapped before I used them. I am guessing isn't wasn't damp enough (rain spray) to short a plug out?
Yes, twice.
Puncture on the TS - used the free one that comes with a bank account but it it limited to 10 miles.
RD- not recovered but fixed at the roadside with the recovery option. Used the one that comes with the bikesure insurance.
Nooo. Just nice, with a little "bite". Then mixed in with some left over spuds and onion to make Bubble & Squeak with some cold cuts of gammon, beef and turkey the next day; Hmmmmmm.
Anyone up to anything different for Christmas? What's on your wish list?
I am finishing work on 19th December and not going back until 5th January. If I am on the "nice" list I am looking to see if Santa brings me some guitar stuff.
Order of organic meats done - to be collected 6am on 24th. Decorations up today (hopefully). Just a couple of bits left to buy. Christmas eve lunch booked overlooking the river and narrow boat moorings. Whats everyone else up to?
Interesting. I was self employed for about 20 years and joined the NHS to do a 17 month project - which I delivered on time and a million quid under budget. Never thought I would still work for them 5 years later. It may be the time to move on now.
Good.
It's a well known fact that motorcycles manufactured before 2007 produce 99% of all world emissions. I think all major towns should introduce this tax levy with immediate effect - except those in NI, Wales and Scotland.
The book I have to hand does not have the float height but some other specs to help:
Spark plug B-6H or M45
Plug gap 0.6 to 0.7mm
Points gap 0.3 to 0.35mm
Timing 2.5 to 2.6mm before TDC
The carb specs are right. They may be worn or, as Blackhat says, need a rebore, new plug/airfilter/genuine jet replacement etc.
When new the bike should have reached around 110Kph - but the bike is 45 years old!
Amazing technology when new.
Interesting what the trend is. My youngest (30 next year) has just done his CBT and plans to do his DAS next year. He has been a car driver for over a decade. Is there a shift to bikes being a hobby for older people and not a form of transport after a, possible, moped at 16 dabble? I had a full car licence at 17 before I brought my first bike at the same age.
