  1. Hi and welcome. What TS did you have? I have a restored 250. I know Blackpool quite well, I used to stay in the Norbreck a lot when I worked in the area.
  2. Your first priority is to make sure the bike is on the NOVA database and you have proof that the import duty has been paid.
  3. Fleabay - type in "RAM mount". I have a similar one some of my bikes. Makes mounting things a lot easier but the kits are quite expensive. That is if I was right?
  4. It's a RAM mount by the looks of things. Good for satnavs etc.
  5. Best wishes to all in the Noise family. She looks lovely.
  6. If you are local to me, I can run the carb through my cleaner. I am in Loughborough. Other than that you could post one to me and I can clean it and post back if it helps.
  7. Does it idle? When you Rev it do the revs stay high, slowly coming does and then it dies?
  8. Get a tin of electrical contact spray.
  9. Andrew (Elvis) should be able to help.
  10. Private land ones are invoices. Signage has to be clearly visible and show penalties. Any legal action is for breach of contract and the fine must be reasonable (up to £100 I think) however a court should only look at the loss to the landowner so parking in a space for an hour does not equate to a large sum of money. I had one a while ago. I emailed them to ask for a full financial breakdown of the £100 loss to the landowner for me parking and a full traffic drawing of signage showing text and size of text. They emailed back after a couple of weeks and let me off.
  11. Have a look on the rspaint website. Just goggle "
  12. It can (could) be good fun. I taught CBT as a volunteer back in the early '90's. I turned Cardington down when it was offered due to work commitments and sometimes regret it. It was a good way to give something back and socialise. Sunday mornings for practical and Tuesday evenings for theory where I taught. There must be quite a few experienced bikers out there now with my signature on their CBT certificate.
  13. No worries. "..and I'm guessing that when I connect pump I will need to also install oil tank for mixing oil..." yep. it's a lot easier
  14. Moved to workshop. 2 strokes use 2 kinds of oil, gearbox and 2 stroke. These are very different and do not mix. Gearbox oil goes in the gearbox and is used the same as a 4 stroke, it lubricates the cogs. There should be a cap on the gearbox which the gearbox oil goes in. Use bike oil, not car oil. 2 stroke oil goes in the 2 stroke tank, or in your case - without a pump, mixes with the fuel and gets burnt with the fuel. A common box ratio is 33:1 so for every 33 parts of fuel you add 1 part of 2 stroke oil. Some people mix in a container and pour this into the fuel tank and some just calculate it by knowing how much fuel the fuel tank takes and pour the right amount of 2 stroke oil into it.
  15. 200 miles a tank sounds about right.
  16. Remember when............................................. Great pictures John. Not sure who the bloke in the second picture is but he looks very dodgy! Here are a couple, the first the same as yours from the reverse angle. By the way, are the TS and DT in pic 1 being friendly or locking horns? I must start to restore this, this year
  17. No good for me Jimmy, i have a proper one
  18. Excess non burnt fuel in the silencers. A blocked vent is a classic bike problem.
  19. A timely post for me as I plan to cure the overcharging that has dogged my TS for a long while. I did buy some capacitors and a "proper" eliminator but just couldn't see to get them to work in a stable fashion and the regulator got very hot. I think my charging issues - normally a dry battery - is due to me somehow bridging the direct power to the lights with the charging system. This is boiling the battery. Because of time constraints I did start messing with the harness but over the last couple of weeks I have brought a new main harness, l/h switchgear and a new tacho harness. These are the 3 complicated bits on the bike so the plan is to strip the electrics out and replace them rather than fault find. I do have a new battery for it but these are cheap as chips anyway. I am on my phone looking at the moment. What's the cost of a 6v negative earth eliminator? I might have a mess around?
  20. As above really. Treat it like a new bike - do you know what the original owners manual says about running it in?
