Try searching the tech section here. http://www.tr1.de/index.php A lot of useful info and most relates to the XV920.

Checked today and the carb is seated correctly but doesn't feel snug. I'm now wondering if I've got the right boots?? I renewed them during a rebuild as the old ones were perished but trying to get spares is abit of a mare:-(

Hi, I'm having problems with the Carbs coming away from the boots thus letting in air. I can't tighten the sercuring ring any tighter as this distorts to boot creating the same problem. Anybody got any ideas? Cheers Gary

    Very Nice, well done.
  8. Sorry, have a look here as well. Very popular on the continent.
  9. In that case it may be worth looking at the early xv750 and 920's as they were shafties. I've seen the odd ones on ebay in my never ending search for TR1 parts. Try a numbers check with the following sites. I've used a fair bit of 750 stuff that is interchangable. https://www.cmsnl.com/payment.php?method=1&Proceed=Proceed http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/default.aspx
  10. Is it the twin shock version?

Hi all, what are peoples opinions on "What is a classic"? My personal view is that it is something special that no body else had done or a new innovation that everybody else followed. My TR1 is classed as a classic by insurance companies but only because of it's age. I though age related to vintage? The bike itself is based on ideas taken from "Vincent" which in my mind built a few classics that are now vintage!!!! I hope you see where I'm coming from? just something to mull over this wintery weekend!! By the way, any more TR1 owners out there? Gary

OK! Cleaned carbs again, no joy. Sent to be ultrasonic cleaned, still no joy. Got a second hand set from ebay (XV1000) put them on, fired her up. Both cylinders popping away nicely and just to make sure burnt my finger on the exhaust. A bit of tuning this weekend and get the correct jets in. Not given up on the old carbs though. I'm determined to find out what the problem was. Thanks for the advice. Gary

Yes. Sprayed down through each channel individually, all clear. However, tried again this morning and it has sprung an oil leak from somewhere at the rear???? Fine spray of engine oil that I will investigate over the next couple of days. I'm now thinking compression as a factor. Need to find the leak before I go any further. I'll keep you posted. Cheers Gary

Definately fuel getting through. It's as if there is a lack of air. With the pilot screw removed it fires with fuel dripping out of the hole but if I block it with my finger it dies????? Cheers Gary

The rear cylinder has stopped working? Checked for spark - Good The only way I can get the rear to run is to completely remove the pilot screw. I stripped and cleaned the carb down but no difference. Any ideas? Cheers Gary

Hi All, nearly completed the rebuild of bike but have found that the front forks are completely unservicable. There is a rear shortage of spares available in the fork department so it looks like a total front end swap. However, this is something I have never attempted/ contemplated so any assistance will be gratefully recieved. So how is it done? I've read loads of articles where somebody has fitted R1 forks to a GSX and the like, but they never seem to explain how to go about it! Cheers Gary
  19. Hi Jim, you've got me on both of those I'm afraid????? I'll have to look into them. Cheers Gary
  20. Hi All, I have recently rebuilt the above engine and now find that 1 cylinder gets very hot very quick. Also that same cylinder pumps out a much more powerful blast from the exhaust. Anybody got any ideas where to start looking? I have tried to sync the carbs quickly but need to do a more thorough job. Any help gratefully recieved Gary

Hi All, been busy rebuilding a 1983 TR1 V Twin. Everything is now ready to go except for the wheels. A germa website states that you can fit SR500 wheels but these are rare so does anybody out here know of any other options? Many thanks Gary
