The quote (which I took) was from MCE insurance. They've got me down as passing my test in 1999 tho (I passed yesterday) but I'll correct that. As I say that covers me on any bike. I'm pretty damn happy

Can't see him beating £350 surely? Most of my other quotes were £1200 (and a few at the wrong side of £6000)

I've just had a phone call from an insurance company offering me TPF&T insurance for £350... surely that's an insane price for a 24 year old with 4 points and on a first bike (1999 R6)!?!?!? That also covers me to drive other bikes third party. I'll get the details of the company tomorrow and keep you informed

I'm an IT manager at the mo Totally off topic I know but I've never ridden my R6 yet... how does the bike compare to the Sup in terms of acceleration/top speed etc? You stock, bpu, single???

Pretty sure you lose it for both as that's the way it works for points. Insurance can be a bitch for a while (for car insurance go through Direct Line... they only want to know how long you've been banned for and don't care about points). My licence is a little flakey at the mo too... I've got 15 points (owch).

Arfternoon folks, I'm having a bit of trouble getting booked in for my test. Some schools want me to sit 15 lessons before my test, some expect me to do 5 lessons on a 125 after my CBT. I've ridden bikes before (motorcross) so 15 lessons is a bit overkill. I've found a local guy who will do me hour lessons on a 500+ bike. Now, would be able to have a restrictor kit fitted to my R6 and use that on the road (since I now have my CBT) and use it on my test (not the most sensible choice but this guy is a one man band so is very hard to get a test time on his bike). Cheers guys!

If the police saw him parked like that he could be in some serious truffle

No one seems to want to learn me to ride (and the one that does thinks you need hours on a 125 even after passing your CBT) unless I take a 12 hour direct access. Swines!

Ok well I suppose I've been into bikes for years but cars dominated my life. I've driven and still drive high power cars (up to 800rwhp jobbys). I'm big into the local rock scene so there's always been a biker scene around me. I took a lad from work to pick up his Fireblade and that was it... bikes were the next thing. I'm yet to plonk me hoop on a bike legally but I can't wait... Farmyard here we come!
