BRITS REVOKE USA INDEPENDENCE (A Message from John Cleese To the citizens of the United States of America): In light of your failure to elect a competent President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately. Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths, and territories (excepting Kansas, which she does not fancy). Your new prime minister, Tony Blair, will appoint a governor for America without the need for further elections. Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire may be circulated next year to determine whether any of you noticed. To aid in the transition to a British Crown Dependency, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect: · You should look up "revocation" in the Oxford English Dictionary. · Then look up aluminium, and check the pronunciation guide. You will be amazed at just how wrongly you have been pronouncing it. The letter 'U' will be reinstated in words such as 'favour' and 'neighbour.' Likewise, you will learn to spell 'doughnut' without skipping half the letters, and the suffix -ize will be replaced by the suffix -ise. · Generally, you will be expected to raise your vocabulary to acceptable levels. (Look up vocabulary). · Using the same twenty-seven words interspersed with filler noises such as "like" and "you know" is an unacceptable and inefficient form of communication. There is no such thing as US English. We will let Microsoft know on your behalf. The Microsoft spell-checker will be adjusted to take account of the reinstated letter 'u' and the elimination of -ize. · You will relearn your original national anthem, God Save the Queen. · July 4th will no longer be celebrated as a holiday. · You will learn to resolve personal issues without using guns, lawyers, or therapists. The fact that you need so many lawyers and therapists shows that you're not adult enough to be independent. Adults should only handle guns. If you're not adult enough to sort things out without suing someone or speaking to a therapist then you're not grown up enough to handle a gun. Therefore, you will no longer be allowed to own or carry anything more dangerous than a vegetable peeler. A permit will be required if you wish to carry a vegetable peeler in public. · All American cars are hereby banned. They are crap and this is for your own good. When we show you German cars, you will understand what we mean. · All intersections will be replaced with roundabouts, and you will start driving on the left with immediate effect. At the same time, you will go metric with immediate effect and without the benefit of conversion tables. Both roundabouts and metrication will help you understand the British sense of humour. · The Former USA will adopt UK prices on petrol (which you have been calling gasoline)-roughly $6/US gallon. Get used to it. · You will learn to make real chips. Those things you call French fries are not real chips, and those things you insist on calling potato chips are properly called crisps. Real chips are thick cut, fried in animal fat, and dressed not with catsup but with vinegar. · The cold tasteless stuff you insist on calling beer is not actually beer at all. Henceforth, only proper British Bitter will be referred to as beer, and European brews of known and accepted provenance will be referred to as Lager. American brands will be referred to as Near-Frozen Gnat's Urine, so that all can be sold without risk of further confusion. · Hollywood will be required occasionally to cast English actors as good guys. Hollywood will also be required to cast English actors to play English characters. Watching Andie MacDowell attempt English dialogue in Four Weddings and a Funeral was an experience akin to having one's ears removed with a cheese grater. · You will cease playing American football. There is only one kind of proper football; you call it soccer. Those of you brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby (which has some similarities to American football, but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like a bunch of nancies). · Further, you will stop playing baseball. It is not reasonable to host an event called the World Series for a game that is not played outside of America. Since only 2.1% of you are aware that there is a world beyond your borders, your error is understandable. · You must tell us who killed JFK. It's been driving us mad. An internal revenue agent (i.e. tax collector) from Her Majesty's Government will be with you shortly to ensure the acquisition of all monies due (backdated to 1776). Thank you for your co-operation.

That would explain my lock ups. I thought being a little inexperienced and on a powerful bike it was the problem, but I'am a very quick learner when it come to this sort of thing. I've lost count of the amount of times my rear wheel has been out of check this winter. Safe riding to everyone. Robbie

Hey guys, does anyone know if car insurance companies will except no claims earned on a motorcycle? I've heard that some place will allow it but can't remeber the source. It only seems fair as you are more likely to have an accident on a bike. Cheers Robbie

The insurance company is actually AXA but I got it through MCE. First they gave me a quote on the internet of Over £2k but a girl called Emma rang me back and gave me the much lower quote. Apparently you can also barter with brokers. My mates dad got so much of off his insurance by doing this the broker made no comission Regards Robbie

Hi guys belive it or not the Hornet and SV650 are more expensive to insure than an R6. This is because apparently there are insurers that solely insure this bike. When looking for my insurance the lowest quote I got for an SV was £1200 whereas I'm paying £946 for my R6. Regards Robbie

I don't know where to get one but does such a manifold exist for a 2000 r6 Regards Robbie

  15. Only half decent image I've got of me. It was taken at a gig of my old band. Go to www.myspace.com/facefulofflames if you want to sample some of the music. Regards Robbie
  16. In my experience cellulose paint and chrome don't mix. In order to paint the chrome you will have to sand it all down to bear metal. This is because no matter how carefully you put on the paint it will react. The best way to do this is take the parts off of the bike and have them proffesionally bead blasted by someone who knows what they are doing (some firms will use the wrong beads). Hope this helps. Regards Robbie

Hey guys, what is it with you larger boys are you afraid you're gonna taste something Regards Robbie
  18. Exactly the way I would suggest just be careful with any residual fuel left in the tank. Also use a bit of 2000 bit wet and dry after the solvent just to make sure it is completely flat. Also another note make sure that the company you get to paint it uses a 2 pack laquer and drys it in an oven as I've come unstuck before due to petrol spillages. Regards Robbie

Hey guys, I'm a student at the moment so I don't earn a crust as such I just get given money buy the government - which I have to pay back. As a part time job for the last 4 years I am a SMART repair technichian. Think car body shop only doing smaller more specialised jobs whilst not having to paint the whole side of a car . For everyone's interest I have resprayed a CBR 1000 completely, repaired fairings on my own bike and numerous alloys for motorcycles in my time working so do have knowledge of repairing cosmetics on bikes. Regards Robbie

I didn't as the engine wasn't even turning over. I have compression now thouygh as the battery has charge. Its hard to get your meaning across over this interweb. Regards Robbie
  21. Robbie replied to Robbie's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
I sorted it out. Turns out that the battery had lost its charge and because of this the relay was switching on and off quickly. Have you ever tried to bump start a high compression engine its next to impossible ended up jump starting it with my mates car. Regards Robbie

Hi guys buggered up another part of the bike now. When I try to start the bike the Relay assembly makes a nasty electrical crackling sound (for want of better words) and there is no compression to be had from the engine. Could anyone tell me what is likely to be the problem and how much it will be to rectify the problem. Cheers Robbie

Hi Tom, Yes insurance is a major expense. It costs me £947 a year third party fire and theft with 2 years no claims on bikes and 1 years driving experience. This is the best I've found and is £300 pounds cheaper than the next nearest quote. Its is an absolute blast and would suggest to anyone who can handle a bike like ths to get one. Also soon should be back up to full power I reckon its only pushing out 50BHP at the mo. Regards Robbie
