  1. Welcome back to all the hothouse plants
  2. Check on full lock that none of the cables are scisscored by the lock stops
  3. I thinl Taskmaster already said it in another thread, drivers run into HGVs/buses/lamp columns/railings/bridges etc, do we make them high vis?
  4. Oops, sorry As per your list, minus Boney M/Searchers/Hermans Hermits
  5. Golden Earring - Radar Love - Twighlight Zone Roy Harper - When An Old Cricketer Leaves the Crease Trapeze - Loser Stretch - Why Did You Do It
  6. How did you get the seal out, self tapper/screwdriver/seal hook The bike looks in great shape, is it a weekend only/special occaision ride, with the SV doing the donkey work?
  7. Put the bike on its centre stand, engine in neutral, ignition off. Spin the rear wheel at the same time as spraying on penetrating/release oil, in both directions. Rags or one of those cheap plastic trays under the chain on the floor to catch most of the dripping stuff. Try gently scrubbing the chain with a nylon brush (old tooth brush)as you turn and spray. The chain should after time free up the seized links. Once free, dry off the above mentioned, then lubrictae the chain generously with engine oil while spinning the wheel. Dry off any excess by wiping. Check and adjust the chain as per the manual, also remember to check and adjust the rear brake if its a drum type, as chain adjustment can alter brake operation. NEVER, EVER, DO THIS WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND IN GEAR
  8. After starting the bike earlier, did you move the petcock switch off PRI when you switched off?
  9. Check out BADRAD600.com, USA based Radian site, manuals and info etc Its its not run for 2.5 years, then a service is advisable, oil/air filters/oil change/spark plugs/battery charged/chain cleaned and oiled and tension checked/brakes checked/cables lubed up. Check the carb to engine rubbers for cracks/splits, and that the rubber pipe from the same rubbers that goes to the fuel tap is good and not cracked/split/kinked. Check that the fuel pipe from the fuel tap to the carbs is good and not cracked/split/kinked. Check the air to carb rubbers are on properly and not split. The fuel tap on the Radian can be a problem, there is a filter on it inside the tank, if its not run for a while the fuel may have jellied up on the filter, and on the inside of the vacuum operated fuel tap. Checks tyres for cracks/splits Good luck with it, post a photo. Be careful, the Radian is surpisingly quick with strong engine braking
  10. Carbs shouldnt be any bother provided that they are set up correctly. Try to avoid using fuel that contains ethanol, can cause problems with older vehicles Dont know where you are in the States, but use youre common sense regarding the engine. Dont leave it running if your stuck at lights/traffic jam etc in hot weather for more than a few minutes, switch off Dont overfill the engine with oil, jusy halfway up the sightglass ViragoStar Owners Club is a useful source of info
  11. Carburetors 51HP Weigth 520 lbs Top speed approx 110mph 1/4 mile from standing start 13.7 secs Tank range 110miles Air cooled Shaft drive Comfy ride, nicely balanced, reliable motor, plenty of low down torque
  12. A good chain should last thousands of miles, if its set correctly and kept in good shape. You can shorten them, search for chainbreaker tools on the tinterweb. Depending on the type of chain, you can get split links and rivet type links, for the rivet type youll also need a chain riveting tool. Once youve bought the tools, youve gotem forever.

    cow horse?

Errrr, No. Definitely not. I've said much the same regarding oil. And Banks, And the EU. Rotten to the core, run by dishonest, swivelling, cheats/liars/crooks. Authorities dont really give a stuff. Its only 4 or 5 years since we had the last meat scandal, remember when the likes of Tesco and other supermarket chains and reataurants were found to be selling meat that had previously been slung in skips as unfit for human consumption? How I'd love us to leave the EU, and start to make stuff for ourselves again, take back our water and utilities from the French and Germans, grow our own crops in the fileds again rather than keep them fallow in order to keep the prices up artificially, and I couldnt care less if my carrots arent all of the approved "shape". Interesting though, my local butcher claims to have sold 30% more meat since the horse/beef scam started And while I'm ranting, how come the snivelling, weasel faced, cost cutting bastards previously in charge at Stafford hospital are still in positions of authority and have not been charged with malfeasence at best, or manslaughter????????????
  14. Theres nothing to stop anyone changing their oil as often as they like, its likely to extend engine life
  15. Beg pardon. I only use TOTAL SUPER UNLEADED now, no ethanol in it, within 200 miles of where I live.
  16. I only use TOTAL fuel now, no ethanol in it.
  17. I've an imperial washer 1mm x 10mm x 19mm, round file or dremmel out the bore, file the od?
  18. right angled valve adaptor, keep it on the bike somewhere, take it off when youve done the tyres as people steal them if you leave them on
  19. Can you have a disc turned that just clamps onto the outer race, and is secured onto the hub with screws/bolts, with the tin can shim centralising the bearing?
  20. Check the Kill switch and the side stand switch
  21. Next size bearing up with the same ID, hub machined out to suit the OD, might have to have depth increased atad to suit too

    LS2 Gear oil

Dont run the engine with too much oil in it. This can cause problems with oil pressure and damage the engine
