  2. Dont think you''l use the spanners much, a 3/8" socket set with extention bars would be far more useful Aldi and Lidl quality is reasonable, look after your tools like you would your bike and they should last Waterproof top and overtrousers from an outdoor clothing retailer have done me proud in the last two winters, total outlay about £30 Advice? HELP

Your description does sound like its a fuelling problem. You say they changed the carb, what actually did they fit, a new one/new jets/second hand. You need to establish facts here so to have a base from which to work Check the petcock is operating correctly, does it rely on vac pressure to operate?
  4. I'll have to guess, is it a Husqvarna Have fun with it
  5. Green box? Dont think we've got them oop north What are they?
  6. I buy critical components for the bike from a local bike shop specialising in Yamaha, they have a wealth of knowledge and it is an advantage to be on good terms with the staff Non critical, you can get from whereever else you like, ebay etc
  7. Should be charging the battery at 14 to 15 volts at 5000rpm, make sure battery is fully charged first.

  9. If my memory still serves me well, then its 16 teeth at the front Cant remember what the rear should be, but id check that too if I were you. 59 rings a bell.
  10. Hmmmmm Friday now No news is bad news ?
  11. Log onto the RSBikepaint wesite, put your bike details in, and hey presto http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colours.php
  12. If you want to shift rusted bolts/screws etc, Plusgas is the stuff to use
  13. Top man, have a good day Thursday too. Be confident
  14. Yeah, looked long and hard at the Eazi Riders, decided against due to the smaller footprint/instablility potential at height. At the end of the day, you pays your money, you takes your choice
  15. Clutch slipping Weak spark Low compression Wrong mixture Over heavy mech load
  16. Length is 2,200mm (without ramp) Width is 680mm Removable ramp is 600mm long x 680mm wide Different widths are available
  17. Never come across the service manual for the IX Vay Cent Vingt Cinq, but I have the parts catalogue for the XV250, same bike but bigger cylinders, layout drawings may be of use to you for parts locations etc. Also have XVS 125 service book. Drop me a line
  18. This is one of those subjects that divides opinion. I have to confess I rode home from Loughborough yesterday sans jacket and loved it, plain levi denim jeans (as always), no high vis. Previous day it was so hot the jacket was ticking tio my skin, so restricting both my movement and my enjoyment, and if it comes to the point of no longer enjoying it, then I might as well get in the car. Dont lets turn into the Safety Police
  19. Id have took his keys, called him a cab, dropped his keys off next day
  20. Fitted a set of HEL on the Virago 18 months ago, no sponginess/rock solid, brake feel is excellent. HEL supplied all banjos/washers etc for the bike in stainless (part from the washers of course) Having said that, that looks a bargain price for Goodridge, if all the parts are there
  21. I think you'd have great difficulty finding an xvs 250 unit. It'd likely be more cost effective to buy an xvs 250
  22. Proper old school, I reckon I counted 7 bikes, and Lord Lucan?
