i have done this on dt and it motors,it is possible.

hi you can change seals while motor together,drill a couple of small holes in seal,screw a couple of self tappers in and pull out,seals are only a push fit,if they have not been done before they will probably be stuck so will need cases splitting,not that hard a job,about an hour to split cases and change seals.

wires to cdi are the red/white,brown,black,others are for lights etc,from cdi you should have a orange which goes to coil,black and a black/white which are for the kill switch,green is your lighting coil,yellow goes to rectifier to charge battery. cheers

sounds rich to me,try to get choke out and make sure its not sticking on,all symptons seem to point that way. cheers

carb that is on it is a 3u500,manual states 160 jet,thats what it has in(4j4 model not 2k4)dont know what the difference is. cheers mark.

think i will wait for airbox,no immediate rush,carb has a 160 main jet as standard,took me ages to get oil tank as that was missing as well,i will keep trauling fleabay. cheers mark.

yes it is,i have part of the airbox,numpty before me chopped all the front out to fit k&n type filter,not my preferred route. cheers mark.

hi i am rebuilding an 81 dt 175,have most major bits except airbox,running a fesco front pipe,tail pipe not yet aquired,does anyone have an airbox or a good idea how to get bike running well on k&n style filter,jetting etc. cheers mark.

i have fitted xt 350 forks with a dt 125lc front wheel into a dt175,only difference with xt wheel was the disc is 10mm bigger,it will fit straight in.

i have had some dt side panel decals off them and the quality was second to none,recommend them for all decals for any bikes.

try image works,ilkeston derbyshire,de7 they make all the decals sunrise etc sell,i had some made,direct replacement for originals.
