I don't know but could it be indicating a 'fault'. Some bikes have diagnostic capability

Yes I think that's the one OG. I have managed to find the reference to making your own panniers - it was Ttaskmaster - so have sent him a message Cheers again.

Thanks OG That's the one I found too when I Googled for it, but I thought I had seen a similar piece on one of the forums too, It even gave a Maplin's parts list, and cost I think, for the bits. Bugger - I wish I had tagged it. It's me age. thanks again

I did that and I have looked through all of them, but it is not finding the ones I recall. The Tomtom one had pictures of the opened up device as well as the circuit diagram. I have googled it as well, and found a description, but no pics. It may be my memory playing tricks

There have been a couple of topics recently that I have been searching for again but can't find them, using the forum search facility. Yes I realise it could be me One was how to fit a connector into a Tomtom One to be able to use an earpiece. It even had a circuit diagram. The other was someone in a topic mentioning that they cut and stitched their own panniers - or were doing it. If anyone can remember what the topics were or can point me in the right direction so that I can get it via the search facility I would be most grateful.

Another sad day for democracy. The world has become paranoid about terrorists - but the effects of such, whilst terminal for some, have very little relevance for the majority. Similar to retention of DNA samples - but the effect on crime reduction is nil, the police still solve less crimes now - with all the technology - than they did years ago using normal policing.

The average speed cameras are, I believe only allowed to record the speed of vehicles if they remain in the same lane. Have you noticed a bit of lane swapping as a line of traffic approaches the next camera position? If not try a trip on the A14 between Huntingdon and M11. I think they are revisiting the legislation to try and sort it out, but I don't see any rush at the moment.

You are as old as you feel. Yes I know there is another saying concerning a woman!!!! Last year I set myself the project of passing my test before I was 60. Did it last December with well over half a year to spare - got a XVS650 classic at the beginning of this month and lovin' it. Enjoy yourself - life is not a rehearsal.
  11. Mine doesn't make that noise either
  12. Hello to you all My new bike as of 3 days, XVS 650A Classic - previously had a ybr 125 custom. It is restricted but is quite enough for me at the moment. It is two years old and only had 749 miles on it when I got it. Can't understand why that happens, but good for me A question re filling the fuel tank. The manual says to fill to underside of rim of filler cap. I am assuming that is not the cylinder like bit inside the tank. ta PeterC
