Searching for a YA-1
Again, I am unclear if you are asking me to give you an appraisal of the bike or what. Personally, I know the maximum I would pay for a restored bike, but then again, that would depend upon where I needed to collect it. But, sorry Jonny, I cannot tell you its worth, as I am not into restorating classic bikes to sell to others. I have bikes for my own personal use; I don't buy them, fix them up and then sell them. Perhaps you could contact a classic bike restorer or reseller, and ask them? All the best, Debb

Searching for a YA-1
Hi Jonny, are you asking me what you should be paying for one you want to buy, or are you offering me one to buy from you? There are a few considerations, at any rate -- which handlebars, which silencer? Restored with updates or as original, and has the engine been worked on, too? Where is the bike at present? Thanks, Debb

How about am AS1?
Wed. 10 June: THANKS TO ALL WHO CONTACTED ME! I GOT A TERRIFIC AS1C, STILL MOT'd and TAXED, FOR WELL UNDER £1700. NOW I JUST NEED THE HIGHER HANDLEBARS (it already has the upswept exhaust) ! ARE THE HIGHER HANDLEBARS EASILY FOUND, DOES ANYONE HAVE SOME FOR SALE? Thanks again to all! Debb *************************** hi again, Everyone! I have seen a few AS1's about, including a gorgeous one, running well and looks really nice, in the USA. However, by the time I buy it and get it over here, it would cost me about £2300, and I don't think they're worth that much yet. Am I correct? I have heard I should be able to get a really nice one here in the UK for less than £1500, tax'd and MOT'd etc. Any idea where I can find a 1968-ish AS1 that runs well and looks quite good? I prefer the higher handle bars & exhaust (the AS1C, I think?), not the straight across, tho I can probably change them out if the straight-across one is really fine in all other aspects. Thanks for any help! Debb, in South Leicestershire

Searching for a YA-1
hi, I have a YB100, an FS1, 2 SR125's (one is 1996, the other is 1999) and also a 1981 SR250. But I am really wanting an old YA-1, which is from 1954, I think. Anyone seen one for sale, anywhere? Heck, I'd consider importing it! Thanks, Debb
