White R1 Stolen EA07 DVX
hope you get your back mate. as madisson said about being re-registered, i went to the customs office here in ireland to clear my bike on friday and all they do (after emptying your wallet) is take the log book from you and give you a new reg number, they dont even ask to look at the bike never mind check numbers. this done they send you the new log book simple as that.

94 FZR 600R Indicators
dont know what could be wrong but i dont think you need indicators for an mot so take them off before the test (if they are on it they must work) it would let you get it tested and sort the problem later (you may also find a bad connection when you remove them) worth a try good luck

Fitting piston rings
i think it is an oil ring, i have the same ring is on the rd. the piston rings are a slightly different thickness, the best way to find whether they are top or bottom is to slip it into the groove i.e. piston on one hand and ring in the other and not by slipping them on,(in case they break) you should have a small bit of play on both rings doing it this way. i think the oil? ring comes with the new set of rings anyway,

Sick to the core
im all for freedom of speech but if these jumped-up camel jockeys dont like this country then they can fuck off home! you would probably find they didnt take time of work to go out and shout abuse as the goverment and establishment that they hate, as the goverment are paying for them to sit on thier arse in a house that the tax payer supplies! the fuckers cant speak english (so they claim) but they can fill out a benifits form no problem. p.s. im not racist (before anybody asks) but i pay taxes and show (some) respect to the country i was born in.

50 MPH limit to start next year !!
the revenue from the fines is yet another stealth tax, only this time with points on!!!! if they spent the money on fixxing the roads and making them safer rather than on the cameras it would be a better idea, but then again when was the last time you heard an out of touch, overpaid pola-fu?%"!**-ticion listening to a good idea from the people that pay thier wages, houses, shopping trips....ect. they should strap one of these f*&$%rs to the back of a bike so they can see what the roads are like rather than sitting on thier fat arses in the back of a car we pay for.

YAY! off to north west 200
hi drewpy glad your coming over for the NW200. i have been going to it for the last twelve years. used to travel over from ayrshire (my home town is Beith) before i moved to ireland 10 years ago. meet up with all my scots mates every year and have a ball!! dont know about any routes up to dumfries but when you get off the ferry you can go up the coast right round the antrim coast, the giants causeway ect. or head through the country up through Balleymoney (home of the Dunlops) and on up that way. i usually watch the action from the metropole with a picnic (slab of lager, 40 fags) and head into portrush after. we stay in a BB about a mile from portrush. might meet up with you.

criminal damge to my bike!!
a couple of sore knees would be compensation enough for me! that might stop him dancing on other peoples property. the thing is that scum these days dont have anything you can take from them, you cant take thier dole cos its needed for beer and fags, dope and whatever else their into, a good f*&%?@g kicking is in order, just dont get caught as you will get done ten times as much of what he should have got.

exhaust balance pipe
i know that on two-smokers the length/cone size/expansion all have an effect on the performance, does it work in the same way on a 4 stroke? as the bike is a v4 the back pots will have a shorter pipe does this have any affect on the perfomance? i.e. the back pots loose the fumes quicker and giving the engine a slight imbalance performance-wise. the pipes that were with the bike had a big long turn on the back 2 pipes, was this to try and even up the length of the front 2? also would i have to put a balance pipe between the 2 front pipes and the 2 back pipes? my gixxer had a balance pipe at the headers but it only connected 2 downpipes.

exhaust balance pipe
hi folks just a quick question(s), can sombody tell me what the exhaust balance pipe actually does? (apart from the obvious). i now that the four branch manifold on a car is set-up in a particular way (say pot 1-3-ect) is this to help the scavenging of fumes from the cylinders? if so how does it work on a 4 into 1 on a bike? i am going to make a set of pipes for a V4 honda {sorry for the langauge} ,(2 x 2-into-1) and want to know if i need this pipe, any help/advice would be gratefully recieved. thanks

electrics
check the wires are the right way round. im not trying to be funny, but some of the aftermarket indicators have the wires the same colour so you have to take the lens off and trace each wire back. they might work ok the wrong way round as an indicator but when you put on the hazards it links them all together. another thing to look at is the wattage of the bulbs, if the wattage is to low they will flash quick and vice versa. mine flashed quick as indicators and ok as hazards so i had to put larger bulbs in to compensate. hope this helps

I gots me a Jawa :D
good luck with your project foamy the best advice i can give, from my experience, is get her running, get the electrics sorted and anything else that needs looked at BEFORE you strip her, that way when you are putting her back together you know that everything is/was working before the strip-down, it can save a lot of time AND money

exhaust modifications
when they say "no re-jetting required" they will mean the main jets. what i meant about the re-jetting was moving the needle jet up a notch or two, this lets more fuel up through the main jet. this should be enough. that is what i done and have had no problem. my biggest problem was getting the f@#*ing carbs out of the triumph!!!!
-
exhaust modifications
hi mits if you go for the drilling option you may have to re-jet the carbs, as i said before more air out=more air in=weaker mixture, but the impact on fuel economy would be minimal, you may not even notice it.

petrol advice
cheers bill thats what i thought. i have never came across a bike needing additive before, it was that the bike came out of france i thought it may have been differant in some way like the californian cars have had 'cats' fitted to them for years due to the strict emission crontrols.
-
petrol advice
dont know what it says on the log book as the full log book gets sent away over here. need to see when it comes back.

petrol advice
hi folks firstly an apology for asking a question about a kawasaki, so here goes. my brother-in-law bought a gpz500 at the weekend and the guy says he uses a lead additive with the petrol?!? the bike is a '93 and was imported from france. i was just wondering why the previous owner was using the additive (it was him that brought the bike when he moved to ireland). my thoughts would be that a '93 bike should run on unleaded, i have heard of older cars running on unleaded but changing the timing angle to compensate for power loss and burnt valves, any ideas??? thanks
