    BBQ rules

BBQ RULES We are about to enter the BBQ season.(I wish!!!!) Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity . When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion: Routine... (1) The woman buys the food. (2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert. (3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand. (4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman. Here comes the important part: (5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL. More routine... (6) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery. (7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat Important again: (8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN. More routine... (9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table. (10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes. And most important of all: (11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts. (12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed ' her night off ' and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women!
  12. you said it don't start with the choke lever down so i'm confirming it starts with it up? ultrasonic gets out out all the tiny bits of crud out of the carb when it's been stripped. speak to merv on here as he does this service!!
  13. bollocks to that, might get fluff on it!! wait till she goes out, open the windows and go for it.
  14. the problem with clear coat is that as soon as it scratches then moisture gets inside it and makes it look horrible and then the alloy whitens. the factory "look" for xs400 cases was silver engine paint!! consensus in other forums was to leave alu bare and polish/ACF50 it
  15. i see the scouse fuzz came unstuck today when their toy got a crim but forgot to register with the CAA so the thief got away on a technicality!!
  16. yep, keep 'em polished and a wipe of ACF50 starter motor cover is zinc plated, but i had mine chromed!

  22. so it starts with the choke lever up? time for a strip down of carbs and ultrasonic cleaned!!
  23. the crankcase was stripped and ....aherm washed in the dish washer!! then rinsed well to stop it going black ( don;t use any wash powder) I painted it with this new engine paint, but its rubbish as it didn't resist petrol even after curing in the oven! If you can, get yamaha silver PJ1 paint its no longer made but you my get some lying around. do exactly what it says on the tin!! the heads was ceramic cleaned by this guy HERE as he lives down the road
