try disconnecting the throttle cable and start the bike. if it still revs like crazy, its crap in the carbs making it lean! you then need to strip the carbs down and clean them

nah, it weren't a holby although it was a "sport" version. I used to like those Vauxhall Magnums with the inclined 2.3 litre engines, never had one though!
