At the show today there was a stand on the National Youth Bike. Never heard of it before and I think that its great as it encourages the young ones into our beloved mode of transport.

  7. thanks Kev, we had a blast, you should have come, good few hours out and the show was a good mix of stuff! (they had no thermostat, I'd leave it out TBH and airhead agrees)

Talking to Airhead today and funny enough he mentioned that fuel isn't the same any more. I thought that yesterday when siphoning off the 2 stroke tank. It doesn't smell the same or tastes the same.(not gulps just molecules) I remember in the 80's I would be burping off the fumes, now there doesn't seem to be any more and is more like water! I know there is 5% ethanol in there now, but there must be other crap in there to "bulk" it out a bit too!
  9. well I met will Air/Old git today. We had a ball, and the show was great and can only get better. Had a good chat with Stainless Steve who does the Stafford shows and we thought it would be a good idea will be to have an auto-jumble there too! It could be as big as Stafford. Any way, took a couple pictures of interesting bikes; Honda NS oval pistoned cul-de-sac New R1 in Swan colours, very nice too classic hall was busier than the new stuff, just needs more vendors and a racer hall (which was advertised) and It'll be a premier venue.
  10. usually anti clock wise, the rotation of the engine. The starter clutch should only go one way easily and then lock up the other!
  11. I passed some fit birds while walking the other day and checked my left mirror
  12. TBH the modern sportsbikes have them on as scoops, but that's to get enough air in when travelling at 150+mph speeds
  13. best to head over to xs400.com where its been talked to death

I can see the scene.... In the IOM fire HQ and fire officer wants a new motorbike, "mmm how can I get a free one?, I know I'll call it a fire bike and the fire service will get me one" so he gets a Kawasaki ZX10R in cool fire birgade colours
