  1. met up with Airhead today and the rains started 15 mins before the show ended. luckily it was inside but going home I got a little wet, but nearer Manchester it was dry all the way home so no soaking after all! oil pressure gauge caused me a few palpitations as the pressure eventually dropped to zero. Checked the oil level and it was fine, but engine was really hot. carried on and I think the gauge has bitten the dust not sure on Paul's ride home though

  10. always bore to the piston ie get the piston first and give to the borer. Each piston has slightly different sizes and need to be matched. I don't know the clearances and they will be different with each manufacturer's pistons as it depends how much silicate they used in the alloy. you used to be able get an overbore gasket kit, but I haven't seen these for donkeys years!
  11. make sure you take the spray bar out, they have little holes which clog. the pilot system is very sensitive too!
  12. I did my own honing and you can get different lengths of hone stone. any engineering shop would be glad of your business. I use western rebores on Oldham road and always take my parts with me and he's happy just to the the machining.

A man dressed as an egg has tried to gain entry to tonight's Euro 2012 Final. He was quickly whisked away by security and beaten. ~~~ Italy are like Stephen Hawking. For years they've shown glimpses of genius, but they'll never again get to lift a cup. ~~~
  23. I agree, once you start down that road its never ending and you start treating it with kid gloves when you should be out riding. When I restored mine, after 6 years its picked up a few bits but they are my bits and know where it came from and what I was dong at the time. bit like a scrap book
  24. nah, It pissed it down all day. Fecking weather its really getting on my tits now
  25. interesting, I though the thermal efficiency was more like 40%. CHP (combined heat and power) generators are about 90% efficient.
