got one on the 400 and it was a boon on the motorway. I think if it was windy you will get benefit by tucking behind it. don't talk about waist, mines expanding due to crimbo

I also have issue linking to my photobucket. even manual image tags are sometimes rejected. If i ignore the issue it sometimes accepts and posts. -
Dual disc front brakes DOHC 1982/1983 XS250/400 RJ/RK

i would say the carbs need cleaning as they don't like the modern fuels and easily gum up. there's a few guys from aus on www.xs400.com who may be able to help with regional stuff for you -
failing an MOT is not technically illegal, but is a requirement under the highway code act. It means you can own a vehicle without an MOT but can't use it on the road. If you don't use your indicators, you'll be just another BMW driver and blend in

Dual disc front brakes DOHC 1982/1983 XS250/400 RJ/RK

I wouldn't have the lock tabs in stainless, its the wrong steel for bending. you can still get them from yamaha or try HVC cycle. I think the slotted disks was off the ypvs 350 but can't remember if they fit or not! -
you were lucky yesterday, weather was nice

Dual disc front brakes DOHC 1982/1983 XS250/400 RJ/RK

you need to use the xj550 fork lowers or font end. this chap in Germany did it http://yamaha-xs400.de.vu/ guy from Netherlands did it (from xs400.com) Front brake: easy conversion. I just swapped the lower forklegs with a pair of XJ550 items and installed 2 calipers from an XV920. Brake cylinder is from a CBR600 with comfy adjustable handle. Standard front rim takes 2nd disk with no mods. -
or make 'em ride behind John on his KH750 for 2 hours

sounds great, when your going to ride it
