depends, does he like riding or fixing? the xs will be a great bike but will need fettling depending on condition etc the virago's will be more dependable (depending on condition) boils down to back lane scratching or cruising the highway/posing

I got mine from motoward, you need the correct type. Part # starts off with 1L9-11416- then 00 blue, 10 black, 20 brown and 30 Green.

you should not need to have it dry. try pulling the brakes lever back when opening the bleed screw, zip tie it back , retighten the bleed screw and leave overnight. that should get some fluid into the MC.

tripometer, reset every fill up

the ground the bike stands on maybe contaminated which is very bad for the earth. try moving the bike to a different location and try again! or you just take off the indicator lamp and ensure the black wire where it meets the frame is clean (undo and wire wool/wd40) and the inside of the lamp has clean contacts.
