got the brake stuff back from the chromers and they have done a really good job and only charged me £35 the problem is, when i try and put them on the splined brake cams, they won't fit on. it looks like the brake arms haven't been touched but I also had the brake cams Zinc'd I have tried kinetic energy and its not happening, anyone have a n idea what to do next. All I can think about is scraping some of the zinc away from the cams or maybe try and open up the arms up a bit
  11. trust me, tell the insurance company. let them sort it out. there is a strong possibility that the car behind might not be insured and as regards to claiming, if it wasn't your fault you won't get penalised even though you have to declare on renewal. what if someone wanted to claim whiplash (including yourself?) have you got 10k to pay out? as soon as you hand over money, you are admitting liabilty! could also be a scam with both parties in cahoots with each other!

  16. wonder how up to date the that book is. I have a copy upstairs and thought it out of date and a bit naive when it comes to other road users. It assumes everyone else follows the rules

regarding the water, there is no-where soft now. Its down to the nationalisation of water ie we all share the same pipe and water is spread around. I only know this as we had to start using hard water detergent in the dish washing machines along with salt. And Benny, its a dog eat dog world mate
  20. beautiful, Jimmy. Just beautiful
  21. your prob better off meeting where there is a show to go to, ie Telford show last weekend. I meet with airhead, quite often at shows.
  22. 400's are better than the 250, they are lighter and have 38hp as opposed to 27hp. mine will run 80mph all day which is fast enough without getting your self into trouble. simple engines and cycle parts are interchangeable with other bikes in the yam range. they seem to be the choice for modding ATM which makes standard ones harder to find. there is a 360 which is quite rare now and has a lighter crank than the 400, similar power too big forum over at xs400.com or german site xs400.net my mate had a go on mine to Stafford and loved it
