line up the line on the mag to to the mark on the casing. means nothing in this case as there is a new crank which has a different keyed cutout for some reason.
-
you know, I was thinking the same today!
-
I'm using the AM6 12v system. I do have the Derbi Senda one which doesn't give that information as they assume that the mag will fit on via the woodruff key (which it will for a derbi senda)

I'm trying to remember a dude years ago (Paul will remember) who flamed us all for modifing our bikes and totally lost it with a tirade of abuse etc etc. Came back online a few months later asking how to modify his bike, he never came back after that when we reminded him of his previous posts.

take the head off and there's a tiny hole for the piston anyone know how to identify the mag "point of fire" on these electronic systems. Its an AM6 off a Derbi Senda.
-
built the bottom end tonight and loose fitted the head and casings for the photo's just need to clean the little clutch, tighten a few things up, then work out how/where to time the AM6 mag/electronic ignition, sort out squish band etc etc
-
not good on all sides Paul
-
I agree, brilliant tune
-
bit of Czech "ingenuity", super brakes
-
yay sorted, took it round to a guy called Ant, who has a cottage industry in his garage. took him all of 5 mins with the right tools, even checked my crank for alignment. cost? FREE, yep gratis going to send my fz head for him to do as he gas flows heads/valves etc

Ah, it all becomes clear now, cheers for that John
-
I'll be interested on how it it done John
-
I know, it was crap though. thought it best not to mention it
-
you'll be surprised, when i get the frame done/painted is just a matter of assembly. the front end is done, mate has the silver parts for shot blasting, then I can use the scout hut as a paint shop whether it starts/works or not is another matter though
-
the 400 engine will slot straight in, the brakes are the same throughout the range I'm afraid. just need to make sure that they are either points or electronic ignition engines, although you can convert if you search this forum.

Being DOHC, I would think you would be a ble to do it as when the cams are out there would be enough chain slack to tie up. I'd suggest getting a manual. I know that haynes never did one so it would have to be an original Yam one. I'm sure they are out there somewhere.
