  1. super glue the zip with the thick stuff just before you go out. hopefully he will go straight for the bag and you have him. if he doesn't it will just dry and you can try again.
  2. should be fine mate
  3. please use a bike oil, there are friction modifiers in car oil with will cause your clutch to slip. if the recommendation is 10w 30 I'd be happy to put that in
  4. As I've said, i use dev111 atf fluid in the Gilera need to check the specs for your bike, could be a straight weight or multi

jeez, good job it was a heavy bike to take the impact. whiplash will kick in up to a week later certainly after the adrenalin wears off glad you're fairly OK though
  6. sorry I meant NOT use engine oil (forgot me glasses) clutch will slip with car oil in.

have a look at my blog (in the sig) I fitted some meaty tyres in there. for a bobber the choice of tyre is firestones
  8. aye, been doing since 13, son taken it up too my fave is my Takamine acoustic. Building a Dean caddy (very slowly) and have about 5 guitars in all.
  9. gear oil has different properties than engine oil. For one its specific for gears and the increased compression loading on gears. Also gear oil foams less. Foaming comprises of air rather than oil, which is not good for protection. yes I know 4 strokes have combined gear and engine oil but the engine is designed with baffles plates etc. I personally would use engine oil on a 2 stroke.
  10. grey sounds like alloy in the oil was there any bits/chunks in the waste? I use ATF in the Gilera and that's red.

you would need to shape the rear frame for a seat like that. You will have to relocated all the electrics, smaller battery and then make a hoop for the rear and get it welded on. can't do one thing without changing something else I'm afraid. that actual seat bit is the easiest

if they get hot, they will tarnish. if you get a double wall down pipe then it won't tarnish.(never seen them though) there is a product called blue away which gets rid of it
  14. its an engine out job for that too
  15. I use stainless a lot, a2a4 is my fave as you can just get what you need. you have to take each bolt off to measure and use copper slip to reduce the electrolytic reaction between stainless and steel. no more rusty bolts
  16. didn't notice
  17. bolts for what? the whole bike, cases?
  18. its to do with the bore size of the master cyl. smaller bore less fluid pushed but a softer brake and may pull to handle bars larger bore, more fluid but harder feel
