the reason I said that is the VF's were eventually withdrawn to be replaced by the VFR series due to severe premature cam and valve wear
  4. I think you can get pattern rear guards from PGM yamaha. for chroming, it depends on what standard you want, the quality of the peice and if price is of no importance as its a rare part. I use RSchrome for general chroming work on good peices, as they can't restore anything except polish it out. I also use chrome restoration services in coventry for my down pipes and they were better than new and 1 pipe cost £70. Mervin can help with the seats but he is also a Mod on http://www.aircooledrdclub.co.uk/forum/

The other night I was expecting an important phone call, so I slept with my mobile under the pillow. When I woke up, it was gone and there was just a shiny new fifty pence piece where I'd left it. Damn that blue-tooth fairy!

  23. BMW 2002 touring is a nice small car circa 1970 ford escort MK 1 2 or 3 ford cortina Mk1 (pricey especially in Lotus form) Sunbeam Alpines series 1 to 5 ('59 to '67) I restored one, lovely car. could get one cheap all these could be on classic insurance

I would say its more down to the operator than the quality of the tool. just don't buy the cheapest of course.
  25. Its cause the clutch runs in the oil, that full synth causes slipperage. semi synth is still mineral based but with additives which stabilize and clean the engine. I use Millars 20w 50 in my xs400 and costs £30 for 5 litres but I think that is money well spent. Just stripped down my engine to change cases and its purfect inside!!
