I did it on my xs400. you need to dremel (with the sanding drum bit) the middle of the part that the wire runs in. then pull out the old wire. you will see a steel skewer where you will insert the new wire , but you need to use 5min epoxy before you insert and finish off with expoy over the bit you dremeled out!! got this from the xs1100 site but can't find it now they updated the site found it
  2. thanks for the update drewps

according to this site its a DT 200 RB, 1991, engine code 3BN so I'm not sure of the 124cc on the bore but 3mb00 is a TZR125 here the bottom numbers are 1st gear, neutral, 2nd gear, etc etc

2A2 is def not tubeless, you are running the risk of tyres running off the rim as the wheel edge is different. Its ok for them to say see if it holds air, but that's not the full picture!! I don't want to put; "told you it was tubed" on your head stone (melodramatic, but couldn't resist) drewps

yep the clutch plates need to be compressed for the kick start to work. It goes via the gearbox to the engine crank. when the engine starts the same is reversed but the kick is detached from the gearbox due to the ratchet mechanism. measure you inner and outer cable and ask the members here to see if they are the same length!!

  20. I think you need to check the valve gaps. I doubt that cam timimg can slip as a chain can't physically jump a tooth whilst sitting in a garage!! could also be hydraulic lock! maybe the previuos owner poured a load of oil down the bores in preparation of storing it? take off the sparkies and gap the valves, than try again drewps

A man approaches a farmer 1 day and asks him will he sell him his donkey foal, the farmer replies yes and they agree on a price of £500. The man then says that he will be round the next day to collect the donkey. The next day the man arrives to collect the donkey, and the farmer explains that the donkey has since died. The man says not to worry I’ll still give u £50 for it. The farmer is delighted with getting money for a dead donkey. The farmer asks the man why on earth he wants a dead donkey for. The man says that he was going to raffle the donkey off. The farmer says u can’t raffle a dead donkey to which the man says of course you can. A month or so later the farmer bumps into the man he sold the donkey too. He asks him how he got on with the raffle. Great replies the man, I sold the tickets for £5 and made over £1000 profit. The farmer asks, and what did you do when the winner saw that the donkey was dead? What do you think I done?? I gave him his fucking £5 back!!
